Video of the Day: Erykah Badu sees good in Hitler — What?

On Wednesday, TMZ reported that R&B star Erykah Badu says there was a lot of good in Adolf Hitler, the brutal Nazi dictator responsible for the deaths of millions of people.

According to TMZ:

The singer launched her defense of the Nazi during an interview with Vulture, saying, “I see good in everybody. I saw something good in Hitler.” For instance, she says, “Hitler was a wonderful painter.”

Vulture gave her a chance to rephrase, but Erykah stuck to her guns, and claimed Hitler’s “terrible childhood” might be the only reason he became a monster. To be clear, Erykah says she’s not an anti-Semite, just a humanist.

In her words, “I don’t care if the whole group says something, I’m going to be honest. I know I don’t have the most popular opinion sometimes.”

What?

Twitter responded:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

You get the idea.

Let me just take TMZ to task here — for starters, Hitler didn’t order a specific number of people to be killed, but he is responsible for the murder of some six million Jews.  That number could even be higher.  And he didn’t give an order to murder a specific number of people as far as I know.

Anyway, here’s my take:

Exit question: Can you imagine what would have happened if President Trump or a supporter said something this crazy?  Oh, wait, we don’t need to wait, the left already thinks every Trump supporter is literally Hitler anyway…
