On Friday Elon Musk said he would create an alternative mobile phone if Apple and/or Google bans the Twitter app, as they have threatened to do if Musk does not implement tyrannical censorship on the platform.
“I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone,” he told conservative podcaster Liz Wheeler.

This could be fun.
We doubt Apple and Google will actually entertain calls to remove the app, or that Musk will have to follow through with releasing his own smartphone, but it would just be one more amusing episode in the story of the billionaire refusing to play their game. There has been speculation about development of a Tesla Phone for some time (the Pi Phone). Will it happen? Who knows.
And yes, leftists who just love Soviet-style censorship have been after Apple and Google to remove the app because, let’s face it, they’re leftists, and leftists HATE free speech.
The same person who used this platform to call for violence against sitting Supreme Court justices is now quoted in the Washington Post urging Apple and Google to boot Twitter from the app store because what @elonmusk is doing is dangerous.

This editor has serious doubts that Apple and Google will pick this fight. Aside from any potential threat from competitors, it would be bad business to remove one of the leading social media platforms from their app stores. They love money too.
But they love power even more than money…
