In a speech at the NRB Convention (National Religious Broadcasters Association) in Nashville, Tennessee, former President Trump vowed to protect Christianity against the attempts of the left to destroy it.
“They want to tear down crosses” – Donald Trump
“They want to tear down crosses where they can and cover them up with social justice flags. But no one will be touching the cross of Christ under the Trump administration, I swear to you.” Donald Trump (Breitbart)
He continued:
He denounced the recent convictions of six anti-abortion protesters arrested in 2021 for blockading the entrance to a Mt. Juliet reproductive health clinic where abortions are performed. The group is facing up to 10.5 years in prison and fines of more than a quarter-million dollars for their actions.
Meanwhile, Trump accused the Biden administration of “targeting Christian believers” and pledged, if elected again, to appoint a special task force “to rapidly review the cases of every political prisoner.”
“Remember, every communist regime throughout history has tried to stamp out the churches – just like every fascist regime is trying to go up and control them,” he said. “In America, the radical left is trying to do both at the same time.” The Tennessean
Trump’s NRB speech came as the FRC- Family Research Council – released a report that stated attacks on Christian churches has risen 800% over the last 6 years, with the primary increase occurring under the Biden administration. The report reflects a rise in the hostility toward Christians that appears to be growing. Can Trump reverse it?
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“Over the past several years, Family Research Council has been tracking acts of hostility against churches in the United States. Between January 2018 and November 2023, at least 915 acts of hostility occurred. The types of acts include vandalism, arson, gun-related incidents, bomb threats, and more.
In 2023, Family Research Council identified 436 incidents—more than double the number identified in 2022 and more than eight times the number identified in 2018. These findings suggest that hostility against U.S. churches is not only on the rise but also accelerating.
Acts of hostility against churches are destructive and have the potential to intimidate a religious community. Therefore, they deserve to be condemned.” FRC
Speaking of hostility- the Southern Poverty Law Center classifies the Family Research Council as a “hate group.” (The SPLC is the real hate group).
Trump could easily deliver the Evangelical vote. The NRB audience cheered, but will Trump be able to stop the trend when the left hates him so deeply? You may not agree with his bombastic personality, or his moral compass, but he has an understanding of ordinary people that surpasses that of any other candidate. He’s going to need some help from God to pull this off. Please pray for him.
