The left-wing media is off the rails as a trucker convoy calling itself “Take back our border” is headed to Texas, Arizona, and California on Saturday. Their responses range from open mockery to massive “misinformation.”
Here’s one from a Texas outlet:
In a news release from mid-January, Organizers said the convoy of “concerned Americans” would head to three states to protest the migrant crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Citing its First Amendment right to peaceably assemble, the group inaccurately suggest the border is open in their outline of reasons for the trip. As Axios notes, the U.S. hasn’t had an open southern border for a century and almost 50 ports of entry staffed with Border Patrol officers are stationed along the southern border. (Austin Statesman).
Here’s another, this time calling the trucker convoy “unstable.”
“There are two good reasons for the shortfall: 1) the organizers were lying from the start and 2) these “patriots” are all so unstable they became convinced that their own convoy was an FBI sting operation.
By last week, members of the convoy had dubbed themselves “God’s army.” But they don’t seem to have received any divine assistance.
It’s unclear where the 700,000 number came from in the first place, but it’s ridiculous. For one thing, there are only 4.06 million semis in service in America. Getting 700,000 of them to the border would require enlisting almost 1 of 6 trucks now delivering goods across the nation, and most of those are owned by trucking companies who don’t seem likely to put their businesses on hold so Abbott can escalate his scuffle with the Supreme Court.” Crooks and Liars
The border isn’t ‘open’ in their leftist minds. So what is it? Thousands upon thousands of migrants including people on the terror watch list did not come here for a birthday party. Sorry, fools, this is a deliberate plan by Democrats, and yes, the border is open. No matter how the media spins it, this trucker convoy is indicative of American anger and frustration at the millions of people flooding into the country. Hopefully it will bring attention to the human trafficking, the fentanyl crisis, and the dangers of unvetted people flooding into the country. But don’t hold your breath.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Some groups, including Lulac, (League of United Latin American Citizens) accused the convoy of being armed and dangerous, so they issued an ‘alert’ to Hispanics and migrants. They were attempting to cause panic against the “extreme right” – which is laughable, but some people are stupid enough to believe it. It’s a peaceful protest. They planned to stop in Eagle Pass, Texas; Yuma, Arizona; San Ysidro, California, and never claimed they were going to “block” the border.
The most balanced view of the trucker convoy was offered by CBN news, which explained the problem:
Here in Dripping Springs, people from across the country are converging to express their displeasure at the Biden administration’s attacks against Texas Governor Abbott’s attempts to secure a portion of the Texas border. The members of this ‘Take Our Border Back Convoy’ say they aren’t coming to cause trouble and won’t be attacking Border Patrol or blockading the border. Many of them say they are coming to pray…
Lt. Col. (Ret) Pete “Doc” Chambers told CBN News, “This all started with a North Texas pastor’s idea for a border tent revival. The convoy’s aim is to highlight the border’s open policies, pointing out failures in upholding the Constitution and addressing issues like human trafficking and drug smuggling.”
Chambers said, “We just don’t live in a spirit of fear in Texas, number one. And there is an American character that exists in this country that we fought for to continue to uphold the U.S. Constitution. So do you know why the people …all the way down to the sheriffs agree with me? Because they took the same oath.” CBN
So there you have it – a trucker convoy full of concerned Americans is causing the left to act like the toads that they are.
