‘Treason?’ — Trump slams NYT with one-word tweet after anonymous hit piece

On Wednesday, President Trump slammed the New York Times for an anonymous hit piece allegedly written by a high-level administration official that slammed the chief executive and praised John McCain.  In a one-word tweet, he simply asked, “Treason?”

Trump also slammed the Times for what he called a “gutless” editorial.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“We have somebody in what I call the failing New York Times talking about he’s part of the resistance within the Trump administration,” Trump said.

“This is what we have to deal with. And you know, the dishonest media … it’s really a disgrace. I will say this: Nobody has done what this administration has done in terms of getting things passed, in terms of getting things through.”

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders minced no words, saying the anonymous “coward” should resign:

Twitchy said Trump’s one-word tweet caused Twitter to explode.

Glenn Greenwald noted:

While the op-ed may not technically meet the legal definition of “treason,” it’s certainly a blatant attempt by the Trump-hating left to usurp a duly-elected president.  And that should concern everyone.
