‘Think Before You Post’: UK Gov’t Goes Full Orwell With Horrific Tweet Warning Against WrongSpeak, Limits Responses After Getting Ratioed (Video)
It seems the country that gave us the Magna Carta, Winston Churchill, and Margaret Thatcher, is determined to become George Orwell’s “Oceania” with limits on what people are allowed to say. Those who engage in wrongthink or wrongspeak online now face arrest and jail.
On Thursday, the official UK government Twitter account issued a tweet reminding the world to “think before you post,” with another tweet from the Crown Prosecuting Service that included a video reinforcing the edict.
“Think before you post! Content that incites violence or hatred isn’t just harmful – it can be illegal. The CPS takes online violence seriously and will prosecute when the legal test is met. Remind those close to you to share responsibly or face the consequences,” the CPS declared.
