Stupid: Liberals Blame Trump, Republicans For Election Protests In BRAZIL (Video)
On Sunday, thousands of Brazilians opposed to socialist convicted felon President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, stormed the headquarters of the Brazilian Congress and Supreme Federal Tribunal, that country’s version of the Supreme Court. Predictably, liberals blamed former President Donald Trump and Republicans for the protests in Brazil.
Twitchy observed:
As news breaks about Brazilians who support their former president storming congress our pals on the Left are front and center blaming Republicans and Trump for it.
Read that again.
This is happening in another COUNTRY but somehow, someway, this is Trump’s fault.
Of course. Because EVERYTHING is Trump’s fault. Even when it isn’t.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
This, from fake news CNN:
"It looks very, very close to what happened to the United States on January 6th."
Supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro breached security barriers and gained access to Brazil's congressional building, the Supreme Court and the presidential palace, images show. pic.twitter.com/iGOi9U01wY

And the stupid went from there:
Brazil I’m very sorry we keep sending you our worst ideas

From the Trump/Far Right playbook, when democracy (ie ordinary people voting even when you make it difficult for them to vote) doesn’t go your way, then storm the Parliament/Capitol/Court

I hope Republicans are watching what's happening right now in Brazil and recognize that their feckless inability to condemn Trump for January 6 (not to mention complicity in his scheme) has allowed far-right insurrectionism to spread across the world.

And of course, a Democrat member of Congress:
Fascism & political violence are contagious. Like Trump, Bolsonaro has refused to accept Brazil’s election results & has placed himself above his country with disastrous effects. We must stamp out this anti-democratic movement in the US & around the world. https://t.co/aXtUL3Dqyr
— Rep. Colin Allred (@RepColinAllred) January 8, 2023
How, exactly, does he intend to “stomp out” this movement? With violence, no doubt, followed by oppressive tyranny.
AOC also weighed in, trying to link what’s happening in Brazil to January 6:
Nearly 2 years to the day the US Capitol was attacked by fascists, we see fascist movements abroad attempt to do the same in Brazil.
We must stand in solidarity with @LulaOficial’s democratically elected government. 🇧🇷
The US must cease granting refuge to Bolsonaro in Florida. https://t.co/rzsZl9jwZY
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) January 8, 2023
Then there’s this particularly stupid hot take:
Far-right American "Stop the Steal" operatives have been in Brazil stoking this kind of violent unrest for months. People allied with Steve Bannon. Like Matthew Tyrmand, who functions as something of an international fascism supereconnector. https://t.co/59g3tcCngU

The MAGA extremism goes global. Meanwhile Bolsanaro chilling in Florida. Can't make it up.

The similarity in Brazil to Jan 6 is not a coincidence. The Brazilian right and especially far-right have long looked up to and modeled themselves after the US right. No one had to tell them to copy Trump.

Maybe Hakeem Jeffries will demand a special partisan committee to find a way to link Trump and the GOP to the mess in Brazil.
Breitbart added:
Bolsonaro weighed in on the situation on Sunday night via his Twitter account.
“Peaceful protests, according to the law, are part of democracy. However, destruction and invasion of public buildings like those that happened today, just as those committed by the left in 2013 and 2017, are out of line,” he wrote, referring to past leftist riots. “Throughout my mandate [presidency], I was always within the confines of the constitution, respecting and defending the law, democracy, transparency, and our sacred liberty.”
“In addition, I repudiate the accusations, without proof, attributed to me on the part of the current chief executive of Brazil,” he concluded, referring to Lula blaming Bolsonaro in part for the events of Sunday.
– Manifestações pacíficas, na forma da lei, fazem parte da democracia. Contudo, depredações e invasões de prédios públicos como ocorridos no dia de hoje, assim como os praticados pela esquerda em 2013 e 2017, fogem à regra.
