Soros-backed Media Matters smears largest Facebook Tea Party group as racists in hit piece against Kelli Ward

On Friday, the George Soros-backed Media Matters published a hit piece against Dr. Kelli Ward, a GOP candidate running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz.  Although the piece was clearly intended to paint Ward as a racist conspiracy theorist, it went even further, attacking her husband, administrators and moderators of the largest Tea Party group on Facebook, smearing them all as racists and conspiracy theorists.

Natalie Martinez, the Media Matters propagandist who published the piece, wrote several paragraphs targeting posts made by the moderators, cherry-picking a tiny handful of posts out of the many thousands present on the group, going back, in some cases, three years.

Naturally, Martinez provided absolutely no context for any of the posts and from what we could glean, did not even attempt to contact any of the moderators for comment or any information that might shed light on the posts.

She further smeared Pamela Geller, Jack Posobiec, Patrick Howley of Big League Politics and Eliyokim Cohen along with congressional candidates Danny Tarkanian, Daniel Crenshaw, Matt Rosendale, Patrick Morrisey, Chris McDaniel, and Rep. Jim Renacci, R-OH.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Additionally, she breathlessly stated that Fox News analyst Jan Morgan “has also promoted Kelli Ward’s campaign events” in the group.

And she also smeared the more than 100,000 supporters of the group by association.

We reached out to the moderators of the group smeared by Martinez for comment.

Mike Michaels, the brainchild behind the popular group, indicated that he isn’t about to back down in light of the Media Matters attacks.

“Wait until we do a Kelli Ward day,” he said.  “They will really flip out.”

Lori Saxon, one of those smeared by Martinez, called the Media Matters article a “hatchet job.”

“I could see going after politicians but I’m just an average citizen who got lucky building the big Deplorables thanks to Hillary,” she said.

Back in the 1990s, she added, Media Matters’ David Brock “wrote books and articles in support of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and interviewed me many times because I was [on] the last panel of women” during the contentious Clarence Thomas Supreme Court confirmation hearings.  This, she said, was before Brock became a radical leftist.

I have shared articles on the Seth Rich Murder and about Pizza Gate. I did not realize that I was so important that David Brock continues to stalk me and my fellow Tea Party admins,” she added.

Saxon further said she believes Media Matters is concerned about the upcoming Supreme Court nomination and the brewing “red wave” in the 2018 midterm elections.

In short, it’s typical Media Matters propaganda, no doubt designed to further inflame the increasingly violent left.

In the interest of full disclosure, yours truly is also a moderator in the group, but somehow managed to escape Martinez’s ire.
