Early Wednesday morning, the Wall Street Journal reported that sore-loser Nikki Haley will suspend her campaign for the GOP White House nomination after losing badly to former President Donald Trump. As many outlets reported, Haley lost all of the primaries and caucuses Tuesday except for Vermont.
And there’s more. Despite having earlier said she would support the nominee, the report said she would not endorse Trump unless he earns the support of the RINOs, Independents and Democrats who voted for her — even though the only reason they voted for her was to hurt Trump.
According to the report:
Nikki Haley plans to suspend her Republican presidential primary bid in a speech Wednesday morning, people familiar with her plans told The Wall Street Journal.
The former South Carolina governor and United Nations ambassador is expected to make an appearance to deliver brief remarks in the Charleston area around 10 a.m. ET. Her decision arrived the day after Super Tuesday, when she won only Vermont among 15 states that held GOP contests.
Haley won’t announce an endorsement Wednesday, the people said. She will encourage Donald Trump, who is close to having the delegates needed to win the GOP nomination, to earn the support of Republican and independent voters who backed her.
Interesting enough, the WSJ didn’t mention the Democrats who voted for her but intended to vote for Biden in the general election.
