On Wednesday, the nation was shocked with news that James Hodgkinson, a Trump-hating supporter of Vermont socialist Bernie Sanders, opened fire on Republicans practicing for a charity baseball game, wounding Rep. Steve Scalise and others, including two police officers. Not only did liberals celebrate the attack, some actually called Hodgkinson a “hero” on social media.

Jim Hoft noted at the Gateway Pundit that an anti-Trump group on Facebook, “Terminate the Republican Party,” also hailed the shooter as a hero.
A post at the Chicago Tribune said:
After the shooting, Hodgkinson’s social media pages exploded. Overheated rhetoric. Divisive name-calling. Obscenity. One Facebook user created a new page called “James T. Hodgkinson is a true American hero.” (All have now been deleted.)
Who would do that?
The answer is, outliers. Not us. Not most Americans. Not the majority.
Perhaps not the majority of sane, clear-thinking Americans. But we’re talking about the modern left, driven to a fever-pitch by hatemongers like Keith Olbermann, and it’s more clear than ever they really do want a second, bloody civil war over Donald Trump. Worse yet, we can thank the alt-left media for helping to create the environment in which this shooting could happen.
“Violence that stems from political discourse is reprehensible. It does not represent us as Americans. The vast majority of citizens, even the most passionate partisans, vehemently reject acts of violence as a means of political expression,” the Tribune added.
Tell it to the alt-left…
And by the way, Hodgkinson was no hero.
