Second California City an Accomplice to Murder By Illegal Alien

Regular readers of this blog are all familiar with Katie Steinle and the fact that San Francisco released her killer even though he was under a DHS detainer.  It’s happened again, this time in Santa Rosa, California.

On August 2nd, 2017, Nery Israel Estrada-Margos, 38, was arrested on a felony count of domestic battery on his girlfriend.  The DHS notified Santa Rosa that they wanted to know when he was released, so they could pick him up for deportation.

Santa Rosa is a sanctuary city and of course, they allowed this illegal alien to go free, thwarting his deportation under the guise that it’s inhuman to deport such a fine upstanding human being.  Two weeks later he beat his girlfriend, Veronica Cabrera Ramirez to death.

The liberal judges in San Francisco did not allow Katie Steinle’s father to sue the city for wrongful death and the Obama administration continually turned a blind eye to felonies committed by illegal aliens.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Let’s hope that Jeff Sessions takes the problem much more seriously than Obama and Loretta Lynch did.  I’m not so much interested in a civil trial for the simple reason that the decision makers would not pay the award, the taxpayers would.  I would prefer either civil rights violations or better yet accessory to murder or depraved indifference.  A long stretch in a federal prison.

According to Breitbart:

Officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) asked to be notified when Estrada-Margos was released from custody after he met the $30,000 bail due to his immigration status.

However, federal agents did not pick him up.

Under the California Trust Act (CTA,) which is designed to “limit cruel and costly immigration ‘hold’ requests in local jails,” federal immigration officials will only be informed of a release if the person has been convicted of a felony.

According to Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Spencer Crum, Estrada-Margos had no prior convictions and under the CTA, law enforcement officials had no obligation to notify ICE about his release.

Under legislation passed earlier this year, Californian law enforcement agencies are prohibited from helping federal immigration enforcement, qualifying the city as a ‘sanctuary state.’ Approval of the bill was seen as a defiance of President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration.

Someone needs to write a bill making a sanctuary city and its officials liable for civil and criminal penalties.  We need to revive that law.
