It has been rumored for several days that RFK Jr was going to suspend his bid for President and endorse Donald Trump. At a press briefing on Friday, August 23, that rumor came true. Although he is not totally suspending his campaign, he’s leaving his name on the ballot in certain red or blue states but asked people to vote for Trump in battleground states.
While Kennedy ran as a Democrat, that party did everything possible to keep him off the ballot. They also originally denied him access to Secret Service protection, in spite of his family history of the political assassinations of his father and uncle. It wasn’t until after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump that they acquiesced and said he could have it. The assassination attempt was also the catalyst for a warming of the relationship between RFK Jr and Donald Trump as they met together.

Though there aren’t many places where RFK Jr’s policies are aligned with Donald Trump, the fact that Democrats have treated him “badly” has led to this. RFK’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, previously mentioned that their campaign was thinking about endorsing Trump in order to prevent a Harris win. And the mainstream news media is trying to bury it.

How this will shake out across the voting spectrum is anyone’s guess. The RFK Jr campaign recently began to what the news media called “crater” as money dried up and the campaign went into debt. But on principle, the fact that Democrats were so worried about his campaign that they treated him like dirt ultimately could lead to their downfall. We sincerely hope so.
