Rashida Tlaib Claims She Wasn’t Attacking Prayer With Tweet Cursing Out National Day of Prayer

Michigan Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D) attempted to clarify her intentions after sharing a vulgar tweet chastising those in support of a National Day of Prayer.

President Trump issued a proclamation this past weekend for a National Day of Prayer for all Americans who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

David Hogg, an anti-gun activist, responded to the idea of a prayer day like any level-headed individual would – tweeting a message cursing the whole idea out.

F*** National Day of Prayer

Hogg took issue seemingly because the concept of multi-tasking is foreign to him.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“Don’t let this administration address COVID-19 like our national gun violence epidemic,” he wrote. “F*** a National day of prayer, we need immediate comprehensive action.”

Lucky for him, President Trump has taken immediate comprehensive action AND held a National Day of Prayer.

Outrage

Tlaib shared Hogg’s tweet, drawing outrage from several corners.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue requested that the House Ethics Committee reprimand the Democrat over her actions, calling it an “obscene assault on people of faith.”

“In a time when the nation is trying to come together, Rep. Tlaib is attacking the faithful,” Donohue wrote. “At the very least, the House Ethics Committee should reprimand her.”

If anybody knows about doing the ‘very least,’ it’d be the House Ethics Committee.

Tlaib Didn’t Mean It

Tlaib responded to criticism over the fact that she retweeted Hogg’s message by retracting it, then offering an explanation that insists it wasn’t her intent to attack people of faith.

“Let me be clear as someone who has been praying through this all [and] as someone who attended the National Prayer Breakfast. My retweet was not to be an attack on prayer,” she believes.

“It was to bring attention to the need for meaningful action to combat this public health crisis.”

Tlaib’s Trashy Mouth tlaib national day of prayer

In his letter to the Ethics Committee, Donahue wrote that Tlaib’s “reputation for using filthy language is well known, but it is typically aimed at some person whom she loathes.”

He’s right. This is, after all, the woman who famously screeched in front of her supporters on the day she was sworn into office that she was going to “impeach the motherf*****.”

Perhaps if the House finally decides to reprimand Tlaib for her trash-riddled vocabulary she would finally get it through her head that this isn’t acceptable behavior for a member of Congress.

President Trump is constantly berated for his use of adult language, but he rarely engages at this level so openly.
