Pastor: Facebook censored John 3:16, the Resurrection, ‘The Old Rugged Cross’

According to Pastor Steven Andrew, Facebook, the site once dubbed the “world’s most dangerous censor,” has apparently shadow-banned and censored his Bible verses, including John 3:16, the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the gospel song, “The Old Rugged Cross.”

Facebook is blocking almost everyone from seeing John 3:16, ‘The Old Rugged Cross,’ the resurrection of Jesus Christ and my other posts,” he said.According to Standard Newswire, “Pastor Steven Andrew has a sizeable audience, with 467,000 people liking his page. Yet, Facebook showed these posts to only hundreds of people each. (The number will be higher with media coverage.)”

“I am being silenced by Facebook. Christianity is being silenced,” he said according to the report.

“These posts are filled with God’s forgiveness and truth, which are the greatest message of love,” he added

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The report further says:

Andrew is called the “Facebook pastor” and spent thousands of dollars with Facebook advertising to build up the followers. Before the censoring, he reached 5 to 8 million people per month, with an average post going to 30,000 to 60,000 people. Some posts reached a million people. However, after Facebook said they were cracking down on fake news in 2016, they shadowbanned Andrew, blocking about 5 million people per month.

“Christianity is not fake news,” he said.

Andrew contacted Facebook about the censoring earlier, but they did nothing. He also requested Facebook remove the fake accounts impersonating him that scam followers for money, but Facebook refused. There are over 70 impersonating accounts.

Facebook“Facebook caused a loss millions of dollars in donations and the ability to grow my website traffic,” he added.

Andrew, the report says, has started an alternative social media site called USA.Life, in response to the censorship.

Sadly, this is not a new story, as conservatives and Christians have found themselves on the short end of the social media giant’s algorithms and Orwellian policy enforcement.  Writing at the Gateway Pundit, Jim Hoft said sites are seeing as much as 93 percent of their traffic lost due to Facebook’s actions.  President Trump’s engagement on Facebook, he said, has dropped by 45 percent.

This type of publicity certainly doesn’t help after the company lost $120 billion after its stock dropped in value.

According to the Business Insider:

The Mark Zuckerberg-led social-media titan saw shares drop 19% on Thursday following a disastrous second-quarter earnings report. The damage was swift and unforgiving in after-market trading on Wednesday as Facebook plummeted as much as 24% within an hour. The selling then spilled over into regular trading.

And it’s not the first time we’ve heard of the Silicon Valley giant censoring Christian posts.  Another ministry, Warriors for Christ, has repeatedly felt Facebook’s wrath even though its pastor, Rich Penkoski, has tried to work with the company to mitigate the issues he and his volunteer staff have been forced to deal with.

Penkoski also created a Christian social media alternative, Social Cross.

In a video posted here, Andrew says Facebook lied to Congress about being “a platform for all ideas.”
