Obama’s UN Ambassador Samantha Power Shows Up on Flynn Unmasking List Seven Times, But Testified Having ‘No Recollection’ of Doing So

Former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power appears on a list of Obama operatives who requested the unmasking of former national security adviser Michael Flynn seven times, despite testifying she had “no recollection” of making any such request.

CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge on Wednesday obtained the list of those who requested Flynn’s unmasking, after which his name was illegally released to the public.

“According to the documents,” Fox News reports, “Power may have received Flynn’s identity after an unmasking request on Nov. 30, 2016; Dec. 2, 2016; Dec. 7, 2016; Dec. 14, 2016 (two unmasking requests); Dec. 23, 2016, and Jan. 11, 2017.”

Did She Lie Under Oath?

Recently released transcripts of Power’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee panel during its Russia probe in 2017 and 2018, however, show she claimed she had no recollection of making any such requests.

“Any time a U.S. person or entity’s name came to me disclosed or annotated, or where I requested it and it came back, I never discussed it with another member of the human race,” Power testified.

“I have no recollection of making a request related to General Flynn.”

She did it seven times, yet said under oath she didn’t recall doing it once.

Not the Only Liar

The Political Insider reported in September of 2017 that Power “was making ‘unmasking’ requests in the final months of Obama’s presidency at a clip of more than one per day.”

She is also alleged to have made requests in the days leading up to President Trump’s inauguration.

The question is why – Why would the UN Ambassador be involved in unmasking American citizens?

In total, more than a dozen Obama officials requested unmasking associated with Flynn in intelligence reports, including then-Vice President Joe Biden and former CIA Director John Brennan.

Biden got caught lying about it in an interview with ABC News George Stephanopoulos.

Felony samantha power flynn

Disclosing the identity of an American caught up collaterally in surveillance is “a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison” according to Fox News.

Former House Intelligence Committee member Trey Gowdy (R-SC) confirms.

“Unmasking names without sufficient factual legal predicate is a serious abuse of power,” he said. “But the leaking of that masked name and the dissemination of that name to the media is actually a felony.”

The declassified list of individuals does not indicate who actually received the identity they sought to unmask, including Power.

It’s clear somebody did, however, stumble onto Flynn’s name and subsequently leak it to the press.
