Obama on Paris attack: ‘I don’t want to speculate’ on who is responsible — Video

obama-parisSpeaking on the horrific terror attacks in Paris on Friday, President Obama said he would not speculate on who might be responsible for the attacks, even though at least one witness overheard someone shout “Allahu akbar!”

“I’m sure that in the days ahead we’ll learn more about exactly what happened, and my teams will make sure that we are in communication with the press to provide you accurate information,” Obama said.  “I don’t want to speculate at this point in terms of who was responsible for this.  It appears that there may still be live activity and dangers that are taking place as we speak.  And so until we know from French officials that the situation is under control, and we have for more information about it, I don’t want to speculate.”

An AFP report posted at Yahoo! News said:

Paris (AFP) – One of the attackers at a Paris concert hall where at least 15 people were killed Friday fired into the crowd shouting “Allahu akbar” (God is greatest), a witness said.

France has declared a state of emergency after at least 39 people have been killed in attacks across seven locations across the capital.

A post at the Gateway Pundit said Obama did not mention Islam once during his speech.

Earlier in the day, the UK Telegraph noted:

One of the assailants in Paris mentioned France’s intervention in Syria’s war to justify the attacks, said a witness who was at the Bataclan.

“I clearly heard them say ‘It’s the fault of (French President Francois) Hollande, it’s the fault of your president, he should not have intervened in Syria’. They also spoke about Iraq,” said Pierre Janaszak, a radio presenter.

The country is in a state of emergency and the French president has closed the borders.  But is it too little and too late?  Worse yet, how much longer will it be before we see this in the United States, given that the administration wants to import thousands of these “refugees.”
