Those of us who keep an eye on these things know that liberals would love nothing more than to repeal the Second Amendment and confiscate guns from law-abiding Americans, despite warnings that to do so would spark a second American revolution.
Nevertheless, President Barack Obama hinted at gun confiscation in a speech given Thursday in response to the Umpqua Community College shooting in Oregon.
“We know that other countries, in response to one mass shooting, have been able to craft laws that almost eliminate mass shootings,” Obama said. “Friends of ours, allies of ours — Great Britain, Australia, countries like ours. So we know there are ways to prevent it.”

So how did Great Britain and Australia deal with guns? Breitbart’s AWR Hawkins explains:
In the mid-1990s Australia and Great Britain both instituted what were virtually complete bans on firearm possession.
He continued, citing recent media reporting by Vox and Slate:
For example, on October 1 Slate ran a story reminding readers that Australia enacted their gun ban in response to an attack on April 28, 1996, wherein a gunman “opened fire on tourists in a seaside resort in Port Arthur, Tasmania.” Thirty-five were killed and 23 others wounded in the attack. Twelve days later Australia’s government banned guns, period.
On October 2 Vox explained that Australia “confiscated 650,000 guns” via a “mandatory gun buyback” program which forced gun owners to hand their firearms over for destruction. Vox claims the result was that “murders and suicides plummeted’ and suggested such a path might be an option for America following “the murder of at least 10 people at Umpqua Community College.”
Dan Savage, the alleged “anti-bullying” activist who once told Bill Maher he wished all Republicans were “f*****g dead,” (video of that can be seen here) weighed in as only he can (Warning – graphic language, because Savage is incapable of completing a sentence without the f-bomb.).

So when Obama talks of emulating Great Britain and Australia, he’s not just talking gun control. He’s talking confiscation and a complete repeal of the Second Amendment.
Which, by the way, is the real goal of the radical left in America.
And as it turns out, that gun ban in Australia didn’t stop a 15-year-old Islamic terrorist from murdering a police employee… with a gun.
Apparently, Obama didn’t get the memo. More guns equal less crime while fewer guns equals more crime.
