De Blasio’s NYC Covid vaccine Mandate really is 1984 on steroids. The NYC Covid vaccine mandate is for ALL PRIVATE SECTOR employees, including those of religious institutions. He claims it’s an effort to combat the Omicron variant, yet no one knows whether the current crop of vaccines will actually stop that particular mild variant. Oh, it’s mild, but the panic is giving dictatorial politicians the excuse to push more controls. And even their newly elected mayor, Eric Adams, is on board with it.

The NYC Covid vaccine mandate includes vaccine passports for children 5 to 11, and as of December 27 all unvaccinated people will be denied entry to restaurants, movie theaters, and gyms. And just one dose won’t cut it – the mandate requires at least TWO doses. Adams has stated he plans to add a mandate for all school children when he takes office in January.

First the NYC Covid vaccine mandate was for all public school employees. Then the edict expanded to all private and religious schools, whose employees must be vaccinated by December 20. Now it sits at December 27 for all private sector employees AND all 5-11 year olds. The vaccine for children is an iffy matter- and thus far has been a mess, with kids being given expired vaccines or the wrong dosage. There is very little “science” involved in that entire scenario. There are no exemptions allowed, even for the faith community.
Many of our schools view COVID vaccination as a matter most appropriately left to individual choice, not governmental fiat. This is an area where government should be using its bully pulpit to persuade, not its regulatory arm to coerce.

According to Breitbart, more people have died from Covid since Biden took over than when Trump was in charge, in spite of vaccine availability.
The NYC Covid vaccine mandate has no alternatives for the people of the city. The only hope they have is a court ruling to halt it.
