No Jail Time For Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Receives Pardon From President Trump

Just as everyone thought, President Donald Trump has pardoned Sheriff Joe Arpaio. The sheriff could have been sentenced to 6 months in prison because his deputies would check out Hispanics they stopped to see if they were legal, which of course cost Hillary votes in Arizona.
Because, as we all know, illegal aliens come here to do jobs no one else wants. Arpaio was convicted in July for violating a federal court order that was supposed to prevent him from hassling illegal aliens and even, gasp, arresting them.
Arpaio, who is 85 years old and served the public for five decades, has been a national hero among Americans fed up with all the crime from illegal aliens. Although I am not sure they commit that many crimes. As the liberals say, that is just a vicious rumor started by a couple of hundred thousands of disgruntled victims.
The White House issued this statement about the Presidential pardon:
“Throughout his time as Sheriff, Arpaio continued his life’s work of protecting the public from the scourges of crime and illegal immigration. Sheriff Joe Arpaio is now eighty-five years old, and after more than fifty years of admirable service to our Nation, he is worthy candidate for a Presidential pardon.”
I will bet you that by tomorrow the fake news will blast President Trump for pardoning a sheriff who tried to get illegal aliens off the street, even though they never said a word against Obama for pardoning hundreds of criminals many of whom committed violent crimes.
According to KSBW:
Trump indicated he would pardon Arpaio at a rally in Phoenix, Arizona, on Tuesday: “I won’t do it tonight because I don’t want to cause any controversy.”
“I’ll make a prediction,” Trump said, adding, “I think he’s going to be just fine.”
However, civil rights groups have pushed back against the possibility of Arpaio’s pardon.
After Trump’s comments at the Phoenix rally, the ACLU tweeted: “President Trump should not pardon Joe Arpaio. #PhoenixRally #noarpaiopardon,” accompanied with a graphic that reads, “No, President Trump. Arpaio was not ‘just doing his job.’ He was violating the Constitution and discriminating against Latinos.”
Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton called the pardon “a slap in the face to the people of Maricopa County.” In a statement, he said Arpaio received “a fair trial and a justifiable conviction” and there’s nothing the president can do “to change that awful legacy and the stain he has left on our community.”
