No bias? Facebook sponsors far-left conference featuring Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Facebook, the social media giant dubbed “Iron FistBook” by cartoonist A.F. Branco for its heavy-handed treatment of conservatives, will sponsor the far-left “Netroots Nation” conference being held in early August, the Daily Caller reported. Among those featured at the conference is Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
According to Peter Hasson:
Topics at the 2018 Netroots Nation conference include “menstrual equity,” “harnessing the political power of black immigrants” and “youth-led campaigns to promote social justice.”
The Aug. 2-4 conference, touted as the nation’s largest annual gathering of progressives, will also include several panels aimed at boosting the Democratic Party and bashing President Donald Trump. Facebook has in the past also sponsored similar conservative events, including the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).
Ocasio-Cortez has become a rising Democratic star since her shock upset of Democratic New York Rep. Joe Crowley — an influential Democrat who chairs the House Democratic Caucus — in the June primary.

Additionally, far-left California Senate candidate Kevin de Leon and former Obama Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Julian Castro will speak at the event. De Leon faces off against incumbent Dianne Feinstein in November’s election.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Far-left Democratic Sens. Kamala Harris of California and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts — both considered possible 2020 presidential candidates — are also listed as speakers.
Hasson further said that the social media giant once called the “world’s most dangerous censor,” is featured in several events, including one titled, “The Facebook algorithm: your friend not your enemy,” which will promote Facebook’s recent algorithm changes as a positive change, according to the conference agenda.
This is the same algorithm change that, according to some studies, has seen top conservative sites lose up to 93 percent of their traffic from Facebook. From what we’ve seen, this is happening to pretty much everyone on the platform whose positions are somewhere to the right of center. Meanwhile, left-wing outlets like CNN have seen an increase in traffic.
So when Facebook tells leftists that their algorithm change is a good thing for socialists and liberal candidates, they really mean it…
Facebook, Hasson said, also sponsored the 2017 conference, the agenda for which included protesting a pro-life women’s health center.
