Michelle Obama Rails Against ‘All White, All Male’ GOP in Congress

Michelle Obama is spouting off again without checking her own facts.  She is now complaining that congressional Republicans are all white men and that there aren’t enough blacks and Hispanics in Congress for the GOP.  She made her comments while speaking at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women on Tuesday.

Obama said:

“We should be working actively to mix it up, so we’re getting a real broad range of perspectives on every issue. Shoot, I would see that in Congress,” she stated.

“At the State of the Union address… when you are in the room what you can see is this real dichotomy. It’s a feeling of color almost,” Obama said. “On one side of the room is literally gray and white. Literally, that is the color palette on one side of the room. On the other side of the room, there are yellows and blues and whites and greens. Physically, there’s a difference in color, in the tone, because on one side all men, all white, on the other side some woman, some people of color.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Of course she is trying to make the case that the GOP are bigots and white supremacists.  Currently, there are three black Senators — one Republican and two Democrats.  There are four Hispanics with two from each party, but Bob Menendez is in the middle of a corruption trial and could be bounced shortly.
Democratic leaders in the 115th Congress are Nancy Pelosi,77, and Chuck Schumer, 67 — both old white people.
But if you really want to talk about racism, let’s be honest for a minute.  Blacks vote Democratic 97% of the time.  Fifty-four percent of Hispanic voters say Democrats care about them.  Eleven percent say Republicans do.  Therefore, the pool of minority candidates for the House is limited for the Republicans but wide open for the Democrats.
How many Hispanic and Black House members were elected in predominantly white districts in the history of the United States?  One — Keith Ellison.  How many minority members elected as Republicans in majority white districts?  Every one of them.  So, who are the racists now?

According to Obama, the GOP being too white and male means “it’s hard to come up with the right answer [to the problems of minorities] when you haven’t lived it.”

At the same conference, the wife of Barack Obama also criticized President Trump’s message to young Americans as much worse than that of her husband’s.

“Many of the young people today, they only know Barack Obama as their president and what that standard felt like and what kind of messages were being talked about… They grew up only under hope and possibility and options and opportunity and creating more space,” Obama argued. “I think they will feel some of what’s happening now as intrinsically not what they were taught.”

One other thing to consider.  Democrats have always gerrymandered to lump as many minorities in one district as possible.  True, it creates one safe seat for Blacks and Hispanics but it also creates two or three safe white Democratic seats.
