Liberals, anti-gunners and Democrats in general are going nuts in the wake of President Donald Trump’s nomination of federal Judge Neil Gorsuch to fill the vacancy on the U.S. Supreme Court, because he is making good on campaign promises at breakneck speed.

Less than two weeks in office and Trump has caused tremors by going after sanctuary cities, immigration reform, stifling government regulations, terrorism and now, nominating a conservative to the high court in the mold of late Justice Antonin Scalia. The Left is having fits.

It is perhaps no wonder that Michael Goodwin, writing in the New York Post, says Democrats are digging their own grave and boosting Trump’s presidency in the process. And his column focuses on Trump’s orders regarding immigration. Here’s part of what he had to say:

“Unfortunately, the Dems are following a dangerously different path. Starting with a wide boycott of the inauguration and including their boycott of committee votes on Trump’s cabinet and their pledge to filibuster any Supreme Court nominee, Democrats resemble a party fomenting a secession movement.

“Some call it Trump Derangement Syndrome, but that’s too kind. It’s not a temporarily insane reaction, it’s a calculated plan to wreck the presidency, whatever the cost to the country.”

The American Conservative Union was out with a quick statement on the Gorsuch nomination, saying the Colorado native “a reliable defender of the Constitutional rights of every American.  A self-described originalist who seeks to interpret the Constitution as the Founders intended, Judge Gorsuch’s opinions have often reflected a commitment to religious freedom and the Rule of Law.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

On the other hand, John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety, the gun prohibition lobbying group founded and funded by anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg, is out with an e-mail blast that states, among other things, “While Gorsuch’s record on guns isn’t long, it does suggest that he’s open to making it easier for some felons to have guns.”

Anti-gun Democrat Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) is quoted by Syracuse.com this morning stating, “Judge Gorsuch has repeatedly sided with corporations over working people, demonstrated a hostility toward women’s rights, and most troubling, hewed to an ideological approach to jurisprudence that makes me skeptical that he can be a strong, independent Justice on the Court.”

Judge Gorsuch of the Tenth Circuit Court in Denver, may be exactly the assurance that the nation’s Second Amendment activists needed from Trump to justify helping put him in office. Granted, the president has already hit some speed bumps, but he appears to be learning fast from his goofs. Tuesday night’s introduction of Gorsuch was nearly flawless, and Trump was eloquent.

Democrats and their Far Left base, along with a largely hostile press, all expected to have Hillary Rodham Clinton on the Oval Office, and they’re angry, bitter and clinging to their Utopian dream. Nearly three months after the election and they still haven’t gotten over losing, which critics like Goodwin intimate make them nothing but losers, and sore ones at that.

Even the New York Times is editorializing that Gorsuch has been nominated to fill “a stolen seat” on the high court.

Trump promised action and he’s delivering the goods. His nomination of Judge Gorsuch could signal that he intends to maintain a strong conservative presence on the Supreme Court, and shift the federal courts back toward the center. He’s done all of this in a dozen days. What’s he going to do with the remaining four, or eight years?
