John Podesta Makes Hillary’s First Concession Speech …
Well, sort of… It seemed that the magnanimous Hillary Clinton just couldn’t bring herself to address her mass of progressive worshipers on election night, so her number one, right hand, after the demotion of Huma, John Podesta took the stage. His words of wisdom to the faithful? Go home. Yep, “Go home,” its over for the evening. Inspired, don’t ya think?
Quartz notes this interesting concession phenomena.
Hillary Clinton isn’t giving a concession speech tonight, her campaign chairman John Podesta said.
“Several states are too close to call, so we’re not going to have anything more to say tonight,” he told Clinton supporters at the Javits Center in New York after 2am Eastern Time. Around 2:40am, CNN reported that Clinton had phoned Trump to congratulate him.
And so it seems to be a developing trend for libs to hang on until the bitter end before they concede. Here’s a listing of just how fast it takes losers in POTUS races to see the light and give up the fight.
Jimmy Carter (1980) 10 pm
George Bush (1992) 11 pm
Michael Dukakis (1988) 11:15 pm
Walter Mondale (1984) 11:20 pm
Bob Dole (1996) 11:25 pm
John McCain (2008) 11:20 pm
Mitt Romney (2012) 11:00 pm
The new election night concession turned post election night concession started with uber progressive, Al Gore. And we all remember what happened in 2000, right?
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
John Kerry (2004) 1:50 pm (+1 day)
Al Gore (2000) 9 pm (+36 days)
However there is one redeeming bit of humor to come from Hillary’s concession delay… It turns out that Hillary’s 3:00 a.m. phone call was a concession call. … pah-da-dum! (sound of snares and a cymbals fades in the distance)
