John Legend responds to president’s ‘s***hole’ comment by calling Trump, voters racist
On Thursday, President Trump came under fire after reportedly referring to some countries as “s***holes” during a discussion about protecting immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries as part of a bipartisan immigration deal. One of those triggered by Trump’s statement was singer John Legend, who responded by calling Trump and his voters racists.
“Why are we having all these people from sh**hole countries come here?” Trump said, according to lawmakers cited by the Washington Post.
A number of liberal celebrities responded with sharp criticism of the president, including Broadway actor Ben Platt, Chelsea Clinton, Questlove, Patton Oswalt and Ben Stiller, People Magazine said.
Legend responded: “The president is a racist. He has been for his entire public life. If you vote(d) for him, you do so because of that or despite that. We need a multi-racial anti-racist coalition to defeat him and try to heal our nation.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The president is a racist. He has been for his entire public life. If you vote(d) for him, you do so because of that or despite that. We need a multi-racial anti-racist coalition to defeat him and try to heal our nation.

So much for “healing.”
Naturally, Legend’s slam against half the country didn’t sit too well with many, even some who consider themselves fans.
I follow you because I like your music. This post is ridiculous though.

love your music @johnlegend but stick to it instead of arenas you don’t have true knowledge of.

Good idea…
Others weighed in:
Nothing says “healing a nation”, like calling all Trump voters “racists.” https://t.co/VNNW0iDJXt

Because the best way to heal our nation is to call half of our nation racists https://t.co/lyakuSd1bz

Good question. Unfortunately, leftists who deal in bumper-sticker platitudes and memes don’t need proof to back up their narrative, as we’ve seen time and again.

Unfortunately, that’s the modus operandi of the modern left…

Sorry John, you are wrong!!! This talk only leads to more division in this country!!!!!!

Indeed. But it seems division is the preferred tool of modern leftists.
One person suggested Trump be impeached:
I’m glad someone is finally addressing this! He needs to be impeached ASAP
— Boog (@BoogieBaddAzz) January 12, 2018
Sorry, but one cannot impeach a president because John Legend thinks he’s a racist…
One person countered Legend’s assertion that Trump has been a racist his entire public life:

Bingo.
Sadly, facts don’t matter to the modern American left.
