David Hogg, the Florida teen who became a media darling as a student at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland following the Feb. 14, 2018 mass shooting, and went on to co-found “March For Our Lives,” is unhappy with Joe Biden for not doing anything to curb so-called “gun violence.”
Appearing on both CNN and MSNBC on the fourth anniversary of the shooting, sporting a beard and wearing a “March For Our Lives” T-shirt, Hogg told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell during a live interview that Biden “needs to use the power of the presidency to do everything that he can through executive action to address gun violence in this country.”
“What is the point of having power,” he posed, “if you’re not going to do anything about it?”

And then Hogg said something strange: “Over 45,000 Americans have died as a result of gun tests since President Biden was inaugurated.”
It’s there at about 1 minute 19 seconds into his interview.
According to Axios.com, Hogg told CNN that Biden “needs to do something.” But it is the “something” that appears to be elusive, to Biden, Hogg and other gun prohibitionists. Among the things on their wish list are bans on modern semiautomatic sporting rifles, full capacity ammunition magazines for rifles and pistols, universal background checks, registration, licensing, mandatory safety training and waiting periods. No other constitutionally-enumerated fundamental right is so encumbered.
Hogg appeared on CNN with Patricia Oliver, mother of a Parkland shooting victim, and Igor Volsky with Guns Down America.
Hogg’s remarks were pure boilerplate. As he expressed disappointment in Biden, he said the president needs to act “before the next Parkland happens.”
Fourteen students and three adults were killed during the school shooting. The gunman in that case, Nikolas Cruz, finally acknowledged his guilt last October. He is serving a life prison sentence.
