Hawaiian Marine Corps Base- ‘God Bless the Military’ Under Fire

Marine Corps Base, Hawaii – A sign erected after 9-11 that was intended to bring hope to our military has become the focus of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. Surprise. Not. And remember, Mikey Weinstein, the atheist, founded this organization as well as  the “Freedom From  Religion Foundation.” They want it removed or moved to the chapel area.
The sign reads: “God bless the military, their families and the civilians who work with them.”

The name of his military group is somewhat misleading. Â He claims that the group is made up of 96%Â Protestants and Catholics and reportedly has 42,645 members. Â Sooo…does that mean these members think they are for religious freedom, or do they know he is against any religion whatsoever? And if they do understand that, why do they claim to be Protestant or Catholic- they might as well be called gingerbread or snickerdoodles.
The group’s special assistant, Blake Page, stated this:
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“This sign is a brazen violation of the No Establishment clause of the Constitution, as it sends the clear message that your installation gives preference to those who hold religious beliefs over those who do not, and those who prefer a monotheistic, intervening god over other deities or theologies,” Blake wrote. “We recognize the value that religious activity brings to the lives of many, however this sign is not in keeping with the time, place, and manner restrictions required by law [or]Â for any military commander to bolster religious principles through the official authority given to their rank and position.”

The Marine Corps responded with this:
The commanding officer of Marine Corps Base Hawaii has received a complaint about a sign on base which was erected shortly after September 11, 2001,” said Capt. Timothy Irish, a base spokesman, in a statement. “He has tasked his staff with researching the origin of the sign and its compliance with existing regulations. The Base Inspector’s Office is reviewing its files to see if there have been any complaints in the past. MCBH will exercise due diligence to ensure compliance with existing regulations and law, including the Establishment Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
The MRFF says the sign is divisive, but it has been up since 2001. When was the last time you heard about any uprising within USMC ranks in Hawaii? IF the sign is so divisive, why haven’t we heard anything about it?
We as the American people must start telling Mikey Weinstein and his ilk to go pound sand when they attempt to intimidate the military with their secular view of the Founding Fathers.
