On Sunday, Democrat Governor Gavin “Nero” Newsom took his PR campaign to Meet the Press in a desperate gambit to gaslight Americans and deflect blame for his horrid “leadership.”
According to the Daily Mail:
Governor Gavin Newsom was slammed for claiming that reservoirs in southern California were ‘completely full’ when at least one of them has been confirmed to be bone dry.
Newsom made the claim during an interview he gave to NBC’s Meet The Press about his response to the raging wildfires in Los Angeles that have caused 16 deaths and billions of dollars worth of damages.
NBC News correspondent Jacob Soboroff asked the governor about President-elect Donald Trump’s criticism. Trump argued that Newsom’s efforts to protect a fish called the Delta smelt has stopped water from being delivered to farmers and major cities.
“I don’t know what he’s referring to when he talks about the Delta smelt in reservoirs. The reservoirs are completely full, the state reservoirs here in Southern California,” Newsom falsely claimed.

REPORTER: One of them was actually not full – the one that serves the Palisdes [which is on fire].

But, the Los Angeles Times reported:
A large reservoir in Pacific Palisades that is part of the Los Angeles water supply system was out of commission when a ferocious wildfire destroyed thousands of homes and other structures nearby, the Los Angeles Times found.
Officials said that the Santa Ynez Reservoir had been closed since about February for repairs to its cover, leaving a 117-million-gallon water storage complex empty in the heart of the Palisades for nearly a year.
The revelation comes amid growing questions about why firefighters ran out of water while battling the blaze, which ignited Tuesday during catastrophically high winds. The Times reported early Wednesday that numerous fire hydrants in higher-elevation streets of the Palisades went dry, leaving crews struggling with low water pressure as they combated the flames.
Translation: Newsom LIED. Keep in mind this is the same Gavin Newsom who wanted Biden to do “something” about “misinformation” (read, “truth”) regarding his total clusterf**k surrounding the wildfires. As usual, it’s Newsom pushing real misinformation and lies.
The Daily Mail added more context:
DailyMail.com further revealed that this reservoir was left disconnected by Department of Water and Power (LADWP) CEO Janisse Quiñones.
On top of that, fire hydrants usually fed by the reservoir were left broken for months before the fires, leading to firefighters running out of water as they battled the devastating blazes.
The reservoir was taken offline in recent months to repair a tear in its cover that exposed the water and potentially impacted its drinkability.
When confronted about this, Newsom simply said it ‘was not a state system reservoir.’
Again, Nero Newsom is shifting blame for his incompetence and demanding that you not believe your lying eyes.
And when asked if the buck stops with him, he responded with a word salad worthy of Comrade Kamala Harris:

This duplicitous piece of 💩 forgets that California hasn’t expanded its reservoir capacity since 1979. During that period the population increased by 50%.
Their green blob stopped brush being burned off, which provided kindling for the fires.

There’s a lot of truth here. On top of that, California has a long history of putting critters ahead of homeowners. When I ran for city council in Riverside in 1991, the favored animal at the time was the Stephens Kangaroo Rat, and homeowners were not allowed to clear brush for fear that it might impact the rats’ habitat, even if it meant the homes burning down.
This is what happens when fire breaks aren’t created, brush isn’t cleared, water supplies run dry, and mismanagement at every level leaves communities vulnerable to wildfires

And again, this incompetence and stupidity has been the default “policy” for decades. Worse yet, the voters in California keep re-electing these whack-jobs into office year after year expecting different results.
