People like Shannon Watts point to the permitless carry legislation signed by GOP Gov Eric Holcomb as the cause of an active shooter at the Greenwood Park Mall in Greenwood, Indiana. But the fact is, a 22 -year-old ARMED CITIZEN killed the shooter, saving many more lives. Four people were killed, including the gunman, and two others were wounded.
The shooting occurred at around 6 p.m. Sunday in the Food Court at the Greenwood Park Mall. Police responded to reports of an active shooter just after 6 p.m., but by the time they got there, the “good samaritan” had taken care of the problem. Greenwood is a suburb of Indianapolis.

According to police, the suspect was armed with a rifle and several magazines. The armed citizen had a handgun and was a lawful gun owner. Most malls in the US do not permit firearms, but since the new Indiana law went into effect on July 1, the ‘no firearms permitted’ rule may be in flux. It’s irrelevant, since the armed citizen saved many lives by killing the shooter. The left, however isn’t having it. They’re fairly shrieking that “it’s the gun” as far as they can, and consistently blaimng Republicans.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The fact is, a “good guy with a gun” stopped a bad guy that could have killed many more people. He was well armed, but the man who took him down was well enough trained that he was able to take down the shooter.
