FLASHBACK: D-Day Speeches Of Presidents Trump And Reagan (Video)

Eighty years ago today, the Free World threw everything it had against the fortified shores of German-occupied France. The price paid was staggeringly high… but the gambit worked.

Every year, on this day, a dwindling number of survivors gather together to commemorate what happened on those five beaches — codenamed Utah, Omaha, Juno, Gold, and Sword.

We can only hope that Joe Biden’s speech on what may be the last milestone commemoration with surviving participants in attendance will rise to the occasion it is commemorating.

In the meantime, here are two previous landmark anniversaries as addressed by Republican Presidents of years gone by.

The most recent landmark anniversary was the 75th anniversary, in which Trump gave a very gracious and moving speech.

Years earlier, President Ronald Reagan was present for the 40th anniversary of the D-Day invasion, and showcased his storytelling talents for men whose deeds were worth the telling.

A grateful nation thanks them for a sacrifice most of us will never fully comprehend.
