Sweden makes no bones about it. Their Leftist government considers themselves “feminist.” And with feminism a national policy for the Scandinavian nation, the country is bringing back national conscription for both men and women alike.
At least being reported to the public that Russian muscle-flexing in the Baltic region is why the draft is being brought back after a 10-year hiatus, supposedly the extreme spike in violence caused by so-called migrants has nothing to do beefing-up the military.

Sweden’s left-leaning government introduced a military draft for both men and women Thursday because of what its defense minister called a deteriorating security environment in Europe and around Sweden.
Sweden abolished compulsory military service for men in 2010 because there were enough volunteers to meet its military needs. It has never had a military draft for women.
The government said “the all-volunteer recruitment hasn’t provided the Armed Forces with enough trained personnel. The re-activating of conscription is needed for military readiness.”
In September, non-NATO-member Sweden stationed permanent troops on the Baltic Sea island of Gotland. Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist described the move as sending a signal after Russia’s 2014 annexation of Crimea and its “increasing pressure” on the neighboring Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Sweden expects eventually that 13,000 young people will be called upon and 4,000 will be enrolled.
The Swedish government, which often has described itself as “feminist,” said “modern conscription is gender neutral and will include both women and men. “
However, Bloomberg News is reporting that the reinstatement of the draft is somehow the fault of President Trump;
The return of the draft in Sweden is taking place amid a heated debate across Europe over how the continent should stand up for itself in the face of an “America First” president who insists that U.S. allies should contribute more to the collective defense bill.
In what could be described as a prime example of the Establishment Media slamming their eyes shut to the obvious, Bloomberg also published;
The Swedish Security Service has warned that Russia is conducting extensive espionage in and against Sweden, while analysts in Brussels are now cautioning of a Russian disinformation effort to portray the Scandinavian country as unsafe due to its acceptance of a large number of migrants during the refugee crisis of 2015. Donald Trump caused much head-scratching in Stockholm last month after suggesting at a rally in Florida that the country was being overrun by foreign criminals.
Yet another glaring example of the “precious snowflake mentality” that’s gripped Europe’s youth was glazed over;
“We have had difficulties manning the military units voluntarily, and that needs to be addressed somehow,” Defense Minister Peter Hultqvist told Swedish Radio. “That’s why it’s necessary to reintroduce compulsory military service.”
By worshiping at the altar of political correctness, Sweden’s leftists fail to recognize that with a gender neutral national draft, all female Swedes ordered to certain combat billets that nature simply didn’t design women for, such as carrying the base plate of an 81mm mortar or the tripod of a .50 cal Heavy Machine Gun during standard 25-mile speed marches.

Protests from female soldiers have led to the Swedish military removing the penis of a heraldic lion depicted on the Nordic Battlegroup’s coat of arms. The armed forces agreed to emasculate the lion after a group of women from the rapid reaction force lodged a complaint to the European Court of Justice, Göteborgs-Posten reports.
But although the army was eventually happy to make the changes in the interests of gender equality, the artist who designed the insignia was less than pleased. “A heraldic lion is a powerful and stately figure with its genitalia intact and I cannot approve an edited image,” Vladimir A Sagerlund from the National Archives told Göteborgs-Posten.
Sagerlund blasted the army for making changes to the coat of arms without his permission. “The army lacks knowledge about heraldry. Once upon a time coats of arms containing lions without genitalia were given to those who betrayed the Crown,” said Sagerlund.
But the castrated lion has already won the day and is now worn on the arms of all soldiers in the battle group’s Swedish battalions. “We were given the task of making sure the willy disappeared,” Christian Braunstein from the army’s ‘tradition commission’ told Göteborgs-Posten. “We were forced to cut the lion’s willy off with the aid of a computer,” he added.
