A report from American Greatness has documented how a family was ejected from their home and locked in a van while FBI agents searched for evidence of terrorism.
But there was no terrorism, only an impressionable teen who was “goaded” by the Washington instigators into posting some objectionable memes online.
The case has come to light because the father, Jeremiah Rufini, has been running a GiveSendGo campaign to raise money for legal expenses and more.
And a notice just posted confirmed nearly $31,000 had been raised, of a $22,000 goal, and the extra, plus anything that still might come in, would be reserved for possible future legal expenses.

The American Greatness report said targeted was a “traditional Catholic family.”
The FBI raid left family members “dragged out of their home at gunpoint, handcuffed and locked in a van” after the FBI “goaded” a 15-year-old boy into posting the memes.
The teen has since been hospitalized over mental issues, the father explained.
The FBI’s campaign against the family resulted only in a misdemeanor conviction for breach of peace.
According to the report, “The FBI targeted the boy as part of a sting operation catfishing traditionalist Catholic teenagers with ‘extreme political content.’”
The problem developed when Rufini’s father became seriously ill, and the teen was left without supervision for extended periods.
“It was a very stressful time, compounded by several unrelated deaths in the family that happened in the same time period,” Rufini said.
The teen, with a cell phone, soon became a target for the FBI, he said.
“None of our children, including my son, had been raised with cell phones or unrestricted internet access. It became necessary for him to have a phone so we could communicate while he was alone at my father’s house caring for my grandmother, and so we reluctantly allowed him to have a cell phone. He spent a lot of time alone with nothing to do but wait and think and the cell phone became a welcome distraction. His interests in history and theology led him down a rabbit hole where he was recruited into group chats targeting teenage traditionalist Catholics with extreme political content. We later learned that these chats were being closely monitored, and possibly operated by, FBI agents as part of an effort to investigate Traditional Catholics that was downstream of a broader domestic investigation spurred by the events of January 6th,” the family explained.
The FBI’s decision to target “Traditional Catholics” already has drawn the attention of Congress, and Rep. Jim Jordan repeatedly has demanded information about the bureau’s document headlined, “Interest of Racially or Ethnically Motivated Violent Extremists in Radical-Traditionalist Catholic Ideology Almost Certainly Presents New Mitigation Opportunities.”
Joe Biden’s administration has been grilled, including a question to Merrick Garland: “Attorney general, are you cultivating sources and spies in Latin mass parishes and other Catholic parishes around the country?”
Rufini said his son was “drawn deeper and deeper into these chat groups and goaded into doing things like take pictures of himself in public wearing ski masks and to print out memes and leave them on picnic tables.’
Eventually, the son deleted all of his chat apps, sending the FBI into disorder over, Rufini charged, concerns the boy had connected to a terror cell.
There was no evidence of that, the report said.
Rufini conceded his son’s lack of judgment, but said the FBI’s attack was “disproportionate.”
Rufini said the FBI eventually lost interest when there was nothing that indicated a “grand conspiracy.”
The report noted, “Former FBI agent/whistleblower Steve Friend blasted the FBI for targeting people based on their religious convictions.”
He said, “Despite its ludicrous caveats and claims to the contrary, the FBI is clearly targeting American citizens for engaging in First Amendment protected religious activities.”
A report at HeadlineUSA confirmed the Rufini son was “at least” the fourth teen arrested this year “after being targeted by the FBI.”
Others were 18-year-old Mateo Ventura for intending to support ISIS, even though his father said the FBI entrapped his son.
Then there was 18-year-old Davin Meyer, arrested as he was about to board an airplane, ostensibly to travel to the Middle East to join ISIS. Like the Ventura case, Meyer’s mother has accused the FBI of entrapment.
Then there was a 17-year-old boy for supposedly plotting to carry out an ISIS-inspired terrorist attack on American soil.
