Democrat Hypocrisy- Sessions Talked to the Russians, So Did They
Partisanship remains the highest priority for Democrats in Congress, who took aim at Jeff Sessions for “contact” with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak during the campaign. Even though his “contact” was during his official duties as a member of the Armed Services Committee, Democrats forced Sessions to step down from the official investigation into the so-called Russian meddling in the US Elections.
During his confirmation hearings, he was asked if he knew of any communications between Russia and the Trump campaign. He answered no. Because all communications he had were for himself during his tenure as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Is that misleading? Is that a lie? No.
Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats called for Sessions to resign for “lying under oath.” [Too bad, Nancy, he didn’t resign, just recused himself from the investigation because of people like you.]
Democrat witch hunt- what’s behind it?
The Democrats are using the Russian issue as a witch hunt (aka distraction), doing everything in their power to destroy the President’s credibility…along with that of his team. Accusing Sessions of simply communicating with Russian diplomats verges on stupidity, especially since many of them have done it too.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
And why are they so hot to get a special prosecutor? Is it some altruistic thought for fairness in the investigation? Not sure I believe any such thing.
According to the Justice Department, “one of the discussions between Sessions and Sergey Kislyak was an office visit that occurred in Sessions’ capacity as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee. The second conversation took place in a group setting with other ambassadors following a Heritage Foundation speech.”
What, American legislators are never allowed to talk with Russian Ambassadors now?
Hypocrisy on steroids
Sen Al Franken demanded that Sessions “step aside”, and yet he was lobbied by Russia over voting for the Iran Deal. And that meeting was held behind closed doors.
In an article in Foreign Policy from 2015, Senator Al Franken, and Senate Democrats admitted to being lobbied by Russia and China over the Iran Nuclear Deal. Thirty Democrats attended a special meeting of top diplomats (which included the Russian Ambassador, Sergey Kislyak, by the way) back in 2015, according to an article in Foreign Policy.
Sens. Al Franken, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Michael Bennet, Tammy Baldwin, Chris Coons and several others were in attendance at the lobbying session.
Under the guise of helping the Democrats “make up their minds” on how to vote, they were pressured by Russia, China, and several of our allies to vote for the deal.
Claire McCaskill episode
Twitter is the bane of many a legislator. Senator Claire McCaskill, also on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said she has never met with the Russian Ambassador, ever. And not only did she meet with him once, she did so several times. Liar liar pants on fire.
Claire McCaskill says she’s had “no call or meeting w/Russian ambassador. Ever.” But she tweeted about two. It’s easy to forget. pic.twitter.com/kavd29WOg5

Bottom Line- meetings with foreign diplomats are standard procedure for anyone on the Senate Armed Services Committee, let alone Jeff Sessions. When you’re on a witch hunt, though, it’s tough to look at your own dirty laundry.
