Democrat Debacles: Bungled Caucus, Stupid Statements

The last couple of days have shown some amazing Democrat debacles. The Iowa Democratic caucus was a total disaster when the app they used to count the votes failed- and they attempted to use video footage instead. John Kerry boasted about being a “lifelong gun owner” but then made a stupid statement about rejected ARs with those “long clips.” The Bloomberg group pushing for gun control read the name of the Boston Bomber at an event for victims of “gun violence.” And Adam Schiff told the Senate (you know, in public) that President Trump just might sell Alaska to the Russians. Democrats are completely unhinged.

The Democrat Debacles #1

Monday was the Democratic caucus in Iowa. The Republicans caucus went without a hitch, voting 97% for Donald J. Trump. Not so for the Dems – their app failed to properly count the votes because of a “coding issue.” (We wonder if the same person that came up with the Obamacare website crash “coded” that app.) As a result, they didn’t have the results of the caucus by Tuesday morning. And according to some accounts, they refused help to vet the app before using it.

They promised to release the “majority” of the results  at 5 p.m. Eastern on Tuesday. They say they’ve fixed the issue.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

In a hilarious response to that debacle, Senator Ted Cruz told Fox and Friends:

“Dems, right now, they can’t stand in a gymnasium and count who stands under which sign and they’re the ones that want to be in charge of our healthcare and everything else in our life…I mean, these are the socialist candidates who say, ‘We know best, trust us to run your life.’ Well, guys, how about figure out how to count your votes first.” Senator Ted Cruz to Fox and Friends

Good point, Senator.

Democrat Debacles #2: Stupid Statements

A. John Kerry claims to be a “lifelong gun owner” yet he doesn’t want an AR-16  (gosh we think he meant AR-15 but who’s counting) with a “long clip.” Ouch.

“You heard from Joe about the things he did with the NRA. That took courage. Delaware is a tough state. I’m a hunter. I’m a gun owner. I’ve been one all my life. There’s not a veteran here who would take an AR-16 with a long clip to go out and shoot a deer or shoot anything. There is no business — Joe led the fight to get those things off the street.” John Kerry (Washington Times)

Was he talking about a hair clip?  He could probably use one of those.

B. Adam Schiff made the insane comment that if left “unchecked” Trump could sell Alaska to Russia.

“If abuse of power is not impeachable … Trump could offer Alaska to the Russians in exchange for support in the next election or decide to move to Mar-a-Lago permanently and let Jared Kushner run the country, delegating to him the decision whether to go to war. Because those things are not necessarily criminal, this argument would allow that he could not be impeached for such abuses of power. Of course, this would be absurd. More than absurd, it would be dangerous.” Adam Schiff in Closing Arguments

Adam Schiff is nuts. His whole argument is so off the wall that a massive recall campaign should be in his future. And maybe some medications to help with the delusions.

C. A Bloomberg gun control group that was pressing for stricter gun control at an event in Concord, New Hampshire, read the name of one of the Boston Bombers, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, as a victim of gun violence. Then they backtracked and apologized.

“Mayors Against Illegal Guns said in a statement Tsarnaev “was absolutely not a victim, his name should have been deleted before the list was provided to a family member for reading and his name should never have been read. It was a mistake, it should not have happened and we sincerely apologize.” Mayors against Illegal Guns (via Kevin Liptak)

Brilliant, folks. Another brilliant stupid statement, and amidst the Democrat debacles. Democrats appear to be regularly shooting themselves in the foot. Probably with one of those “long clips.”
