Democrat Congressman Alcee Hastings Jokes About Trump Drowning, Media Yawns — Video

Jokes about the President drowning are totally cool with today’s Democrat party and their ever-compliant media colleagues. As long as they’re directed at Donald Trump.

Had this been a Republican congressman joking about Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama, however, the wall-to-wall outrage would be deafening.

Rep. Alcee Hastings, a Florida Democrat, kicked off a campaign rally by telling his very supportive crowd a joke which featured the President of the United States falling victim to a drowning.

“I will tell you one joke,” Hastings concluded. “Do you know the difference between a crisis and a catastrophe?”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“A crisis is if Donald Trump falls into the Potomac River and can’t swim,” he continued. “And a catastrophe is anybody saves his ass.”

Haha … Get it? The President drowning is hilarious. Hastings made the joke and his supporters in the crowd lapped it up, squealing and shrieking their approval.

This isn’t the first time Hastings has tried his hand at cracking jokes about the political opposition.

In 2008, he was pressured into issuing an apology after he snidely commented about Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin being an avid outdoorswoman and assuming that meant she didn’t care much about minorities.

“Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks,” he scoffed.

And in 2015 Hastings joked that Texas was “a crazy state,” prompting a country singer to respond by writing a song telling the Democrat he’d like to “open up a Cowboy boot shop in your behind.”

You’d think Hastings would want to keep a low profile considering his past. The corrupt Democrat was impeached in the 1980s for bribery and perjury as a Federal Judge, becoming just the sixth federal judge in the history of the United States to be removed from office by the Senate.

Indeed, in 1981 Hastings was charged with accepting a $150,000 bribe in exchange for a lenient sentence, but was later acquitted when a co-conspirator refused to testify in court.

The Democrat-controlled House took up the case in 1988 despite the acquittal and voted to impeach him, while the Senate voted to remove him from office the following year.

Additionally, American taxpayers unwittingly shelled out $220,000 to settle sexual harassment accusations against Hastings in 2014, after he was accused by an immigrant staffer of making sexual advances, touching her and threatening her job.

Seems Hastings is no stranger to crisis or catastrophe relating to his own career.
