Corrupt FBI, Redactions, and Clinton Collusion

When Inspector General Horowitz completed his report on
“FISA abuses,” the document was long and had numerous footnotes from the Bureau’s secret surveillance of the Trump campaign. The footnotes had portions that were redacted – the corrupt FBI said because it was a matter of “national security.” Turns out that was a blatant lie – someone was covering their collective rear ends. Senator Lindsey Graham, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary panel, released a pile of reports from the investigation on Thursday.

“It’s ironic that the Russian collusion narrative was fatally flawed because of Russian disinformation. These footnotes confirm that there was a direct Russian disinformation campaign in 2016, and there were ties between Russian intelligence and a presidential campaign – the Clinton campaign, not Trump’s.” Senators Grassley and Johnson in a joint statement

The entire episode is convoluted and deep. The collusion wasn’t on Trump’s part, but it is definitely on the part of the Clinton Campaign.  The FBI suspected at an early stage that there were falsehoods in the Steele dossier but failed to share that information. The creator of the Steele dossier had frequent contacts with Russian Oligarchs, according to the National Review. The Clinton campaign paid for the Steele dossier.

The Washington Examiner reported:

The Senate Judiciary Committee released a trove of declassified documents related to the FBI’s counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign and Russia on Thursday, including new details about the secret surveillance of members on the candidate’s team.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, the chairman of the panel, set up a new website as part of his ongoing investigation of the Trump-Russia investigators and unveiled on Thursday a series of records, including further declassified Justice Department materials related to the surveillance of Trump campaign associate Carter Page, transcripts of recorded conversations that Trump foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos had with FBI confidential human sources, and previously released Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court rulings.”

But it was what was redacted in the footnotes of the reports that highlighted an extreme agenda. Chris Farrell from Judicial Watch, writing at the Daily Caller reported,

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

One U.S. agency assessed that the sections of Steele’s work which detailed Donald Trump’s supposedly scandalous behavior during a 2013 trip to Moscow were “false” and “the product of RIS [Russian Intelligence Services] ‘infiltrating a source into the network’ of a [redacted] who compiled a dossier of information on Trump’s activities.” Why was this critical information hidden in a redacted footnote in the Horowitz report? It should have been a major headline, but that’s exactly why someone redacted it.

Another section dealing with former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s supposed trip to Prague as part of the imaginary collusion scheme was criticized by an intelligence agency which “did not have high confidence in this subset of Steele’s reporting and assessed that the referenced material was part of a Russian disinformation campaign to denigrate US foreign relations.”

Even now it appears that there are those within the corrupt FBI, and other portions of the DOJ, who seek to hide their complicity in the plot to destroy a President.

The corrupt FBI

The Washington Examiner also noted,

Earlier in the evening Thursday, Senate Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Senate Finance Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray, demanding documents to help them determine the extent to which the FBI’s investigation was “infected by Russian disinformation.”

The FBI “investigation was infected by Russian disinformation.” That means someone in the Bureau knew full well that some of the information was false, but that knowledge was never shared with those on the other part of the investigative team. The damage done to the reputation of the Federal Bureau of Investigation is horrific. It wasn’t Trump, it was a corrupt FBI  and a corrupt Clinton campaign that colluded with Russia.
