CNN’s April Ryan called out for fake claim that Trump was booed at White House event celebrating America

On Tuesday, CNN’s April Ryan posted a tweet claiming that President Trump was heckled and booed at a White House event celebrating America.
“Breaking: Reporters on the South Lawn have confirmed the @realDonaldTrump was heckled and booed when he came out to celebrate America,” she tweeted
According to the Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra, her colleagues quickly corrected her false claim.
“This is not true. There was a protester who shouted at Trump and was booed,” CNN’s Noah Gray tweeted.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“After the anthem, this man shouted ‘stop hiding behind the armed services & the national anthem.’ He was booed then called a Cowboys fan,” Gray said in another tweet in which he included a video:
After being called a cowboys fan after shouting @ POTUS, protestor shouted “let’s hear it for the Eagles!” pic.twitter.com/KtEwAhOj6I

Ryan deleted the original tweet and posted this:
The original breaking boo tweet was deleted as reporters on the South Lawn who told of the booign and heckling did not see all of what happened on the other side of the lawn. After the tape was watched the heckler was booed not @realDonaldTrump

She also posted this “must-read” update:

Breaking: reporters are rewatching the event and found a heckler in the crowd started asking questions of @realDonaldTrump and the heckler was booed. The heckler was escorted out of the event. The booes were for the heckler

Others didn’t let her off hte hook, however:
You knew that from the beginning. So did the producer. Yet you chose to run with what you did. You fail at the very thing you were hired to do. Report. Are you an opinion journalist?

One person noted:
Meanwhile, your original tweet-lie has spread around the Internet far more than your correction. I'm so sick of you MSM people in a bigger hurry to get out a Trump-bashing story than to get out a correct story.

Indeed it has:

Apparently not…
So once again #FakeNews. Maybe know the facts before jumping to attack @realDonaldTrump

That, it would seem, is a bit too much to expect…

Ouch. Incidents like this, by the way, are just part of the reason CNN was dubbed the “least-trusted” name in network news in January 2017.
