There’s denial and then there’s denial. But this claim by CNN’s Don Lemon has got to earn a spot in the Guinness World Records for most implausible ever made. Lemon, one of the most hyperpartisan “journalists” in the world told Chris Cuomo, his equally hyperpartisan cohort at the hyperpartisan cable network:
I’m not a partisan. I know people think that I’m some liberal Democrat. I’m not. They used to think I was a conservative Republican. I’m not. But I don’t think the Republicans are serving themselves well right now with their defenses or lack thereof of a credible one.
The topic that inspired the assertion was the Trump impeachment inquiry hearings, which ended last Friday with the laughable claim by Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff that the witnesses his committee had paraded in front of the American people were not “Democrats,” as ranking Republcian member Devin Nunes had insinuated, but “non-partisan.”
Apparently moved by Schiff’s display of open-mindedness, Cuomo said, “I can’t take their outrage seriously,” referring to Republicans complaining about the manner in which the hearings were handled. “On this one, I think, Republicans are on the wrong side of history,” Lemon affirmed. “They are the most hypocritical.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
If you need further proof of Lemon’s non-partisanship, consider his claim in May of 2018 that it was his “obligation as a journalist” to call Donald Trump”‘racist.” Or take his assertion in September of that year that the Trump administration’s border policy was all about whites “losing their privilege.”
Or a more recent claim that Trump supporters are “mental.” No bias there, right?
As a final measure of Lemon’s open-mindedness, note that the Columbia Journalism Review — itself a fairly far-left outfit — named Lemon among the worst of the worst broadcasters in 2014.
