He was the lead council for the first impeachment of DJT… now watch him try to defend his own indefensible words after the Hunter Biden pardon.
CNN likes to play nice with elected Democrats when they can. After all, they’re playing for the same team. But now that Biden has pardoned Hunter, they have to backpedal. The pardon makes their grand promises that Biden was the better man, who (unlike Trump) would not corruptly leverage the system to benefit his own family. (As if that ship hadn’t already sailed years before now.)
Of course Biden did exactly what most of us said he would do. And the Corporate media clowns are left holding the bag. They could take the loss themselves… or they could save face by trying to find themselves a scapegoat.
Enter Rep Dan Goldman, who is exactly what most of us think of when we imagine slick New York Laywers. It’s possible he may have said three consecutive true statements at some point in his life, but I wouldn’t bet my house on it,

THAT guy drew short straw in CNN’s efforts to dig themselves out of this (particular) hole. And it was deeply satisfying. Not only did they expose how effortlessly he transitioned from the old party line to the new one, the cover story he gave for that change was worse than the change itself.
Pay attention to the wording of Brianna Keliar’s question. “What does that feel like, watching yourself back then assuring people back then that Joe Biden was not going to issue a pardon?”

“I don’t think there’s any chance that (Biden) is going to do that, unlike his predecessor…” blah blah blah Orange Man Bad yadda, yadda, yadda.
She calls him out on the lie he spins at the end… which he could have avoided telling in the first place by actually listening to the original question.
Why would CNN be upset by Biden’s flip-flop on pardoning Hunter? The reason is simple.
Even by Rep Goldman’s own estimation, the Hunter Biden pardon is a smoking-gun example of Biden applying precisely the corruptly self-serving uses of official powers that the left has spent years accusing Trump of doing. This pardon leaves only two possible conclusions:
Either Biden, whose talking points the corporate presstitutes have slavishly supported for years is every bit as bad and ‘dictatorial’ as Trump… (think ‘literally Hitler’).
Or, a possiblity they could tolerate even less, Trump is (at minimum) no worse than Biden, meaning their Literally Hitler rhetoric was childishly silly for all to see.
The only possible way for the media to ‘win’ in this scenario is to have some other poor sap take the heat long enough for the public to move on to whatever tomorrow’s outrage du jour might be, so they forget the media has been lying to them.
That sap was Dan Goldman.
The left gets on with cannibalizing themselves.
And we get to make popcorn.
