Liberals tend to be the most ignorant people on the planet with regard to weapons… or are they deliberately misleading the public with their words? Very likely it’s the latter. Breitbart reported that Senator Chuck Schumer, (D-NY) reacted to the Government’s settlement with Cody Wilson’s Defense Distributed by this statement:
“America is going to get a lot less safe. Such firearms are not only scary, they’re outright dangerous in the way they can mimic the look and the capacity of a hardened, fully semiautomatic weapon.” Chuck Schumer
“Fully Semiautomatic Weapon.” Ouch. You’d think that one of the creators of the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban would have some knowledge of those “scary guns.” The problem is that he may very well know more than it sounds like he does…he’s just deliberately misleading people who are ignorant about guns.

You can also buy 3d printed bullets for your scary 3d gun. And if Mr Schumer thinks THAT gun “mimics” the look of a “hardened fully semiautomatic weapon”… he’s got more problems than we thought.
It’s the verbiage that people hear which influences their thoughts. “Hardened”…”Fully semiautomatic” …
According to the NRA:
A fully-automatic firearm, or “machinegun,” is defined by 26 U.S.C. § 5845(b) as, in part, “any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger.”
The 18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(28) definition of “semiautomatic rifle,” explains the function of a semiautomatic firearm as one “which utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and chamber the next round, and which requires a separate pull of the trigger to fire each cartridge.”
Machineguns are illegal for civilians in the United States:
“Under the NFA, it is illegal for any private civilian to own any fully automatic weapons manufactured after May 19, 1986. Only certain types of FFL/SOTs may make them, and then only for purchase by qualified state and federal agencies. There are no exceptions. According to the ATF’s official handbook on NFA laws and regulations, it’s not even legal to make new replacement parts for pre-1986 machine guns: “There is no exception allowing for the lawful production, transfer, possession, or use of a post-May 18, 1986 machinegun receiver as a replacement receiver on a weapon produced prior to May 19, 1986.”
Remember back February when a CNN reporter, and that military not-a-sharpshooter talked about firing a gun on “full semiautomatic?” Since the wording is the same, we think Schumer is spreading the lies of the left in an effort to mislead the public. If you continually use verbiage that makes people think something that isn’t true, eventually they believe it. Then there are liberals like Carolyn Mahoney (D-NY) who, according to the Media Research Center, said back in February, “We really need to act in a number of ways. We need to pass an assault weapons ban. We need to ban the massacre machine gun magazines, and we need comprehensive background checks.”
That fact that she used the word “magazine” instead of the usual incorrect term “clip” makes us think she did it deliberately. Adding the words massacre and machine gun, made it sound more “scary,”
Liberals are not just ignorant…they are promoting an agenda.
