The historic summit in Singapore between President Trump and Kim Jong-un is over. There are a few things that came out of it, minus concrete details, that may bring hope for the future of the Korean Peninsula. It’s cautious optimism, but optimism nonetheless. Of course the MSM is all about skepticism, and are doing their level best to discredit the situation.

It appeared that Trump and Kim “hit it off ” at the beginning. Why, you ask? Because finally, one world leader brought a validation, an acknowledgement to Kim. Yes, it’s an ego thing, but previously no US President would meet with him. This one did. This one made an effort to bring peace. Is there really anything wrong with that?
The meetings went on throughout the day. For us in America, they began at 9 p.m. EDT on Monday and went all night. After their 9 a.m. (local time) meeting, the leaders had a “working lunch.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The “agreement” both leaders signed does not contain a lot of details and basically agrees to meet many more times. But it’s a step, just one step, in the right direction.
The President is convinced that Kim will dismantle his nuclear program in exchange for some security agreements with the US. The President knows full well that intelligence on Kim’s nuclear program is limited. “But we have enough intelligence to know that what they have is very substantial.” Donald Trump
First and foremost, Kim’s nuclear test site at Punggye-ri was no longer usable, so he supposedly demolished it on May 24. Skepticism was rampant through the MSM about whether he really did it or not.
Perhaps the biggest “concession” if you want to call it that, is that Trump put a “freeze” on joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States. For now. He did not agree to remove American troops, just stop the exercises.
The agreement did not mention human rights, but the President credited the Otto Warmbrier incident with starting the process toward a meeting.
Kim agreed to release the remains of Americans who died in the Korean War, which was a previous sticking point. Kim also agreed to the denuclearization, and Trump believes he’s going to “Get it done.”
“We’re going to have to check him. And we will check him, we’ll check him very strongly. But he has a plan total and complete. He’s got a total plan. It will get done.” President Trump
Mike Pompeo and John Bolton, two very smart and knowledgable advisers, have been present and working all along with the President in negotiations leading up to the summit and will be there beyond it. According to Joel Rosenberg, “At present, they are telling reporters that the Summit will set into motion an accelerated process of denuclearization on the Korean peninsula.”Â
After the summit we learned through Dennis Rodman that Obama wouldn’t give him the time of day after he visited the rogue regime, and brushed off his messages from Kim. Trump listened…and learned. Rodman even broke down in tears while wearing his MAGA hat after recounting the death threats he received. The White House even thanked him for the role in advocating for diplomact with North Kroea. What a concept- a President who actually listens.
A portion of the text of the agreement is here via CNBC:
1. The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new U.S.-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity.
2. The United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.
3. Reaffirming the April 27, 2018 Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
4. The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains, including the immediate repatriation of those already identified.
Having acknowledged that the U.S.-DPRK summit — the first in history — was an epochal event of great significance in overcoming decades of tensions and hostilities between the two countries and for the opening up of a new future, President Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un commit to implement the stipulations in this joint statement fully and expeditiously. The United States and the DPRK commit to hold follow-up negotiations, led by the U.S. Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, and a relevant high-level DPRK official, at the earliest possible date, to implement the outcomes of the U.S.-DPRK summit.
President Donald J. Trump of the United States of America and Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea have committed to cooperate for the development of new U.S.-DPRK relations and for the promotion of peace, prosperity, and security of the Korean Peninsula and of the world.
