Attorney warns: Those who continue to lie, libel Covington boys can expect intent to sue letter ‘this week’
In a tweet issued Monday morning, Robert Barnes, an attorney representing a number of covington Catholic students in lawsuits against lying media outlets and Hollywood personalities, warned that those who have yet to retract false statements made about the students and those who continue to issue false statements about the teens can expect to see an intent to sue letter “this week.”
“For all those who refused to retract, refused to correct, refused to delete, and refused to apologize, but continued to lie & libel many #CovingtonBoys, you can expect an Intent To Sue Demand Letter this week. I hear Covington is beautiful this time of year. #StandWithCovington,” he said on Twitter.

During a weekend interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters, Barnes named some of those facing a possible lawsuit, including The New York Times‘ Maggie Haberman, CNN propagandist Reza Aslan, ABC talking head Matthew Dowd, actor Michael Rapaport and the New York Daily News.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
He also named Kathy Griffin, the alleged comedian who sparked controversy with a photo showing her holding a facsimile of Donald Trump’s bloody severed head, and Rep. Omar Ilhan, the newly elected Democrat from Minnesota who once begged a judge to show “compassion” for nine men on trial for planning to join ISIS. Ilhan, as we reported here, defended the Black Hebrew Israelites on Twitter and got called out for her false statements.
According to Barnes, both Griffin and Ilhan retracted their hateful, malicious statements against the Covington students.
In addition to blatantly false statements, other leftists have called for the children to be murdered and the school burned to the ground. Many of the threats and outrageous lies were posted to Twitter, causing many to wonder about the social media site’s double standard.
Here’s video of his appearance, courtesy of the Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft:
The goal, Barnes told Watters, is to “send a message” that hateful, lying leftists like those who have made the students’ lives miserable will remember.
