AOC: McAuliffe Lost Because He Was Too Moderate
This is the takeaway?! Let’s hope that Democrats run with this in the midterms.
The Democratic Socialist that represents New York’s 14th Congressional District is always ready to give her take on any issue.
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) posted a video on her Instagram story on Wednesday about the Virginia election to her 8.7 million followers.
While driving, AOC said, “Plus, on the election front. I actually think we have good news as well. I know that Virginia was a huge bummer. And honestly, if anything, I think that the results show the limits of trying to run a fully 100% super-moderated campaign that does not excite, speak to, or energize a progressive base. And frankly, we weren’t even really invited to contribute on that race.”
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
.@AOC finds a silver lining in Virginia election losses.

So, apparently, Terry McAuliffe pushing Critical Race Theory in schools, saying that Virginia has “too many” white teachers, and having staffers dress up as Tiki torch Nazis to stand in front of his opponent’s bus is “too moderate” for AOC.
She’s calling for the Democrats to go further left.
She didn’t stop there, either.
In another post screencapped by John Gage, she was asked, “Should we be worried about the midterms next year with Democrats losing in Virginia?”
She replied, “I think that we should be worried if nothing changes.” She also wrote, “(This of course is not the only thing but it’s a big thing! Historically moderate Dems have believed that the best way to respond to race-bating by the right is to say little/nothing. We see how that demoralizes the base you’re supposed to protect and turn out while also ceding white swing voters to the right w/ inadequate responses or silence.)”
Astounding.
When was the last time you recall a Democrat not bringing race into a campaign?
But we’re supposed to believe that “moderate” Democrats are “silent” on the alleged race-baiting by Republicans?
Forgive me, but who was it that was trying to invoke the white nationalists with the Tiki torches again…? The Democrats and the Democrat grifters at the Lincoln Project, wasn’t it?
Seriously, this woman is clueless!
Another question she received was, “Will progressives go on TV and rebut the ‘progressives made us lose Virginia’?”
With another stunningly bad response, AOC called it a clown argument.
“I’m open to it but it’s such a [clown emoji] Argument and I’m not trying to beef with people over silly arguments right now when we need to hold the caucus together to pass Build Back Better,” she wrote.
Continuing, she added, “One thing about politics that I wish people understood more but often don’t want to accept is that a lot of decisions aren’t always about ideology or even money but about ego. It’s like middle school sometimes. People will straight up kill legislation because their ego got hurt or they have some weird beef going back 20 years with somebody or some program. Is it terrible? Yes. Egotistical? Also yes. But I swear it happens all the time. We don’t like to accept that because it’s irrational and frustrating to organize around but it’s true. Many members will vote EMOTIONALLY from time to time, even the ones that project very analytical identities.”
She writes this as her faction of the Democratic Party is holding the passage of the massive infrastructure bill hostage in the house until they get everything on their far-left wish list which would cost upwards of $5 trillion, balloon government, and create brand new entitlements like universal Pre-K.
Utter cognitive dissonance.
She ended as though to underscore that she does this, too.
“It’s not always a character thing either, sometimes a time crunch with little information can do that,” she wrote. “So I do pick my battles because sometimes winning a news cycle is not as important as winning universal pre-k.”
.@AOC then claims “I’m not trying to start beef with people.” pic.twitter.com/GeEu2WkEI2

Republicans approve of the message.
???
Yes, the Dem takeaway should definitely be that McAuliffe was too moderate. https://t.co/WwxUqb3qSH

I wrote about this yesterday: Progressives are so far out in Dreamland that they’ve convinced themselves they can govern the country like it’s an Ivy League classroom. https://t.co/GsgL7VUFZ0

That’s right, Dems. The answer is to run more progressive candidates and campaigns. Go with that. Test that theory at scale. We’re begging you. https://t.co/NKoZrCYm74

Make @aoc appear on every television station in America. Her socialism is the best things Republicans could ask for. Whatever is done, highlight everything @aoc says. Her Marxist policies are the reasons Republicans have gained so much ground. Keep it up @aoc https://t.co/M63eFY8fbL

LMAO at the “progressive” lefts attempts to spin this.
Again, what is the difference between McAuliffe’s position on CRT and AOC’s? https://t.co/O5g7392kgL
