American Bar Association demands halt to Kavanaugh confirmation in wake of contentious hearing

Early Friday morning, the Financial Times reported that the American Bar Association (ABA) called on the Senate to halt the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court after a contentious and sometimes emotional hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

According to the report, the ABA is demanding the FBI investigate unsubstantiated allegations of sexual misconduct made by Christine Blasey Ford.

“Each appointment to our nation’s highest court (as with all others) is simply too important to rush to a vote,” said Robert Carlson, president of the ABA.

“Deciding to proceed without conducting additional investigation would not only have a lasting impact on the Senate’s reputation, but it will also negatively affect the great trust necessary for the American people to have in the Supreme Court,” he added.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Times report further stated:

The issue of whether a federal investigation of the accusations should be launched was a central issue during Mr Kavanaugh’s angry appearance before the committee on Thursday, with Democrats questioning why the Republican majority was proceeding with a vote on the nomination without a thorough fact-finding process.

Mr Kavanaugh himself was evasive when questioned whether he thought an FBI probe was warranted to clear his name. The judiciary committee is expected to vote on the nomination on Friday morning.

As Townhall reported, the committee is expected to vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning and, Matt Vespa tells us, Kavanaugh “has the votes to make it out of committee and the votes to be confirmed on the floor for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.”

All of the Republicans are voting yes, he said, and the rumor mill is saying that “several Democrats may break ranks and back Kavanaugh.”

Which means that radical leftists will do everything they can to derail the nomination.  Who knows, maybe they really will accuse Kavanaugh of molesting a horde of wild mongrel dogs before this is all over…  After all, they’re certainly not above doxxing Republican senators.
