Alleged ‘religion’ studies prof calls Ben Carson a ‘coon’
Scratch a liberal and you’re liable to find a racist hatemonger. Responding to a tweet sent in response to a Sports Illustrated article about Ben Carson and the Confederate flag, Anthea Butler, a “religion” professor at UPenn called GOP presidential candidate a “coon,” Campus Reform reported.
“If only there was a ‘coon of the year’ award…” she wrote. The tweet appears to have been deleted, but not before being captured for posterity:
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
The word “coon” is an offensive term to slander Africans, deriving from the Portuguese word “barracoos,” which is a hut-like dwelling used to store slaves during auctions, according to Online Etymology.
In effect, then, Butler’s tweet insinuated that Carson is a metaphorical slave who belongs in a wooden shed.
This isn’t the first time Butler has engaged in this type of rhetoric as I reported here, here and here. She also thinks God is a white racist who chases black people while waving guns. Butler, however, is allowed to spew her hate with zero consequences because she has “tenure.”
Keep in mind, this is what’s “educating” our children in Ivy League colleges…
