Alleged Cruz sex scandal blows up Twitter; ‘Mistresses’ deny, call report ‘tabloid trash’

cruz-valuesOn Friday, Twitter exploded with allegations that GOP candidate Ted Cruz has been involved with as many as five mistresses.  The report, originating from the tabloid National Enquirer, did not name the women allegedly involved, but Twitter users matched three of the pixellated photos to former Cruz staffer Amanda Carpenter, Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson and former Carly Fiorina staffer Sarah Isgur Flores.

But two of those women — Carpenter and Pierson — have strongly denied the allegations, calling the report “tabloid trash.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The Right Scoop posted a video of Carpenter, who destroyed Adriana Cohen on CNN.  She responded to the allegation, calling it “tabloid trash.”

Amanda completely destroyed the babbling moron, and CNN’s Kate Bolduan chimed in, saying there was absolutely no responsible reporting on the tabloid trash. Of course, that won’t keep the cesspool of Trump’s worst and stupidest followers to keep pressing the idiocy.

Flores has not weighed in yet, but we suspect she’ll also deny the allegation.  Nevertheless, that has not stopped some from speculating that a $500,000 contribution made to a Fiorina PAC by a Cruz PAC is “evidence” of a “payoff.”

The National Enquirer is viewed as a salacious tabloid that runs with stories based off of unconfirmed sources and rumors.

A number of Twitter users reminded nay-sayers of the Cruz hit piece that the tabloid did break the news of the John Edwards sex scandal, along with the Tiger Woods sex scandal.

On his Friday program, Rush Limbaugh mentioned that an article dating back to October said that Trump is close — very close — to the head of National Enquirer.

Last October, NY Mag wrote:

Trump and Enquirer CEO David Pecker have been friends for years. “They’re very close,” said a source close to the Enquirer. In July 2013, Trump even tweeted that Pecker should become CEO of Time magazine, which at the time was being spun off from its corporate parent, Time Warner. “He’d make it exciting and win awards!”

The article also says the tabloid helped Trump take Ben Carson out of the race:

Now, as Carson overtakes Trump as the GOP front-runner, it appears Trump is getting help from a media outlet known for ending presidential candidacies: the National Enquirer. Earlier this month, the Enquirer published a cover story on Carson headlined “Bungling Surgeon Ben Carson Left Sponge in Patient’s Brain!” The article called Carson a “White House wannabe” and claimed he “brandished a scalpel like a meat cleaver!” It went on to quote angry former patients saying he botched surgeries that left them disfigured and in pain; one patient who sued Carson said he forgot to remove a surgical sponge from her brain after a procedure. “His presidential campaign should be dead on arrival!” Enquirer reporter Sharon Churcher wrote.

Is there a Trump connection to this story as well?  Consider the timing and consider that Cruz is gaining on Trump, especially in Wisconsin.  It’s certainly not out of the question.

Personally, I’m reminded of the way Herman Cain was taken down in 2012.  Is this a similar effort?  Time will tell, and we’ll kepp you updated, no matter the outcome.
