Alabama Mall – Early Black Friday Shopping Turns Deadly
A physical altercation at the Riverchase Galleria Mall in Hoover, Alabama on Thursday night turned deadly when a man opened fire near a shoe store, according to Fox. An 18 year old man and a 12 year old girl were injured. The suspect was killed by police.
Police: It started as a Fist fight
The incident occurred at around 9:50 p.m. as two men began fighting each other and arguing in front of the Foot Action Shoe Store. One man pulled out a gun and shot the other. A 12 year old girl was also shot. The suspect fled the scene. Police responded to the report of shots fired inside the crowded mall. Hoover police eventually confronted the suspect and shot him.
The gunman was only identified as a 21 year old male from Hueytown – his name has not yet been released.

City officials described the scene as chaotic when the shots erupted. Shoppers ran for safety, some were herded into closets by store personnel.

It is unclear at this time whether the argument occurred due to a shopping incident (shooting each other over a pair of shoes seems a bit over the top), whether the man had intent to shoot more than two when he arrived, or whether the two men knew each other, which is the more likely of the three choices.
The 12 year old underwent surgery last night at a children’s hospital, and was “alert and conscious.” The 18 year old was said to be in serious condition at UAB Hospital Trauma Center, according to Al.com.
The Riverchase Galleria Mall closed after the shooting, but reopened on Friday morning at 6 a.m. Hoover, Alabama is about 10 miles from Birmingham.

The sad fact is that malls are “gun free” zones. This 21 year old did not obey those signs. He was not a “law abiding gun owner.” The constant harping of the anti-gun crowd was evident on twitter as people called for total bans on guns so that the deaths would “stop.” People are so uneducated these days that they have no clue what happens to societies historically that have total gun bans.
