Actress Ellen Barkin says conservative blogger should be physically assaulted

On Friday, actress Ellen Barkin told Rusty Weiss, a conservative blogger who writes at Mental Recession, that he should “live thru a day on the receiving end of assault.”  The attack came after he politely responded to a tweet she issued on the subject of “Title 1X” guidelines.

“Rescinding the Title 1X guideslines (sic) does not effect the law already in place. It’s a way to stop us from standing up for our civil rights,” she tweeted.

Apparently wishing to engage in civil debate on the subject, Weiss initially responded: “It’s actually an attempt to prevent people from abusing the power to take away the Civil Rights of others.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

That prompted this hateful response from Barkin: “I read ur tweets & found something we agree on…you r for sure in a mental recession. May u live thru a day on the receiving end of assault”

Got that? She disagreed with his point of view, so she wished violence on him in typical liberal fashion.

Weiss informed Barkin that his wife and step-daughter were both victimized by assault and gave her a response befitting a loving husband and stepfather (edited for language):  “My wife and step-daughter were both victims and survivors. So listen closely when I say this: F**k You.”

Barkin doubled down on her hate, telling Weiss: “I don’t need to play weigh the pain but reading ur response makes it more horrifying. It should have been you”

Weiss told Barkin:

Blogger Jeff Dunetz weighed in:

In an email, Weiss told me: “Barkin is so triggered by DeVos rolling back Title IX that she completely dismissed my family’s very real history of assault, while wishing I had been a victim myself. How progressive.”

Progressive, indeed.

He also referred to her as “just another bargain basement Hollywood actress who wishes hate and violence on anyone who disagrees with them.”

This kind of hate is nothing new for the aging actress, as I and others have documented over the years.

In July 2012, for example, Barkin went on a profanity-laced tirade against conservatives on Twitter, as I documented at the now-defunct Examiner.com.  An archived version of that article can still be seen here.

Citing Twitchy, that report said:

“I love everybody,..except u right wing f**kin morons,” she tweeted.

“Besides the ‘right wing f**kin morons,’ she also attacked fellow actor Jon Lovitz and One Million Moms, calling them ‘b***hes,’” Twitchy added.

According to Twitchy, the “group isn’t pleased with Barkin’s new television series ‘The New Normal.’ How dare they? Diversity of thought does not suit.”

Barkin was not finished, however.

She then attacked Jon Lovitz for daring to criticize Barack Obama.

“John Lovitz maybe I met you a few times back in the day,but now you’re just an ignorant a**hole.(sic) Shut the f**k up,” she tweeted, with a message for President Obama: “Long live our president.”

Apparently, Barkin is one of those Hollywood leftists who reserve the First Amendment only for themselves.

Shortly thereafter, she mocked Andrew Breitbart’s death.

In August of that same year, Barkin expressed a desire to see Republicans washed out to sea by Hurricane Isaac.

In September, she declared on Twitter that the American people belong to Barack Obama: “Right now he is the President of our country. He is our leader & we are his people.”

Are you beginning to see a pattern here?

In February 2011, I first observed that liberalism, at its core, is an ideology of rage and hate.  Barkin, sadly, is one of the many leftists who continue to prove that assertion correct on just about any given day.
