Abuse of power: Democrat Socialist Ocasio-Cortez threatens retaliation against Trump Jr. over meme

Scratch a Democrat Socialist, find a fascist. On Friday, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the newly-elected Democrat Socialist member of Congress from New York, issued a tweet that many see as a very thinly veiled threat of retaliation against Donald Trump Jr., over a meme he posted in which he took a jab at socialism.

“I have noticed that Junior here has a habit of posting nonsense about me whenever the Mueller investigation heats up. Please, keep it coming Jr – it’s definitely a ‘very, very large brain’ idea to troll a member of a body that will have subpoena power in a month. Have fun!” she tweeted.

The Post noted:

The meme’s suggestion is likely a reference to the reports of starving people in Venezuela having to eat dogs, cats and zoo animals because of the country’s spiraling economic crisis brought on by corruption and failed socialist policies. But, Ocasio-Cortez, as The Post’s Paul Waldman wrote in October, advocates for a version of European social democracy, not the Hugo Chávez-style economy in Caracas.

In other words, a “kinder, gentler” form of socialism, if there is such a thing…

The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra said that a number of people on Twitter took Ocasio-Cortez to task for her threat of retaliation.

Why yes, she did…

Ocasio-Cortez tried to backpedal, claiming that her threat really wasn’t a threat: “For the GOP crying that this is a “threat” – I don’t have power to subpoena anybody. Congress as a body, GOP included, has the power. No indiv. member can issue a subpoena unless they are a Chair (which, as a freshman, I can assure you I will not be). Also must be under purview”
