This time around we’ll get to see which of us have learned some important lessons about government tyranny, and which of us have not.
Some of our Founding Fathers were fond of saying ‘resistance to tyrants is obedience to God’.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
But nobody wants to be a dumb punk who is being persecuted for stupidity’s sake rather than the gospel’s sake. If we’re going to be a rebel with a cause, it’s good to know whether God’s got your back.
Fortunately, there is a way to know where that line lands.
This week, Doug takes a break from the series in Mark and looks at what Scripture has to say about how regular believers can know whether the government authority we deal with day by day is giving lawful orders we need to take seriously vs. when the time comes to give tyrannical diktats the scorn they so richly deserve.
There is a line. Sometimes our ‘leaders’ cross it. This week’s message is all about putting a clearly-defined edge on that ‘hazy’ line. Because if we’re doing this pandemic do-si-do again, somebody’s sure to cross it.
