Bingham County, Idaho: At 2 A.M. on March 13, 2024, Derek Condon, 39, chose to break into the home of 85-year-old Christine Jenneiahn and her disabled son. He handcuffed her to a chair, not knowing her son was in the house with her. What happened next was nothing short of “heroic.”
Condon wore a military jacket, a black ski mask, and carried a 9mm gun and flashlight. After handcuffing Jenneiahn to a wooden chair, and hitting her hard enough to draw blood, he demanded money. She told him that there were two safes downstairs. When he left to get into them, she dragged the chair into her bedroom to retrieve her .357 magnum. Then she hid it in the cushions of the couch near where Condon left her to see what he would do next.
When he returned, he became angry that her disabled son was in the house and made threats to kill her.
The victim’s memory “remains somewhat unclear” as to what happened next, the prosecutor’s statement says, but at some point, she made the decision that it was “now or never,” drew her gun and struck Condon with two shots.
“Condon returned fire emptied a 9mm pistol into Christine striking her multiple times in her abdomen, leg, arm and chest,” the document states. “Condon then went into the adjoining kitchen where he died from his wounds.” Fox

…Jenneiahn then “collapsed to the floor,” where she lay for ten hours before her son came to her and gave her a phone so she could call 911.
East Idaho News reported that Jenneiahn was hospitalized for her injuries and then released.” Breitbart
An 85-year-old woman on the floor for 10 hours as she was wounded is an amazing testimony to perseverance. Deputies arrived at around 12:17 p.m. and provided “life saving measures.”
Bingham County Prosecuting Attorney Ryan Jolley told reporters that her actions were “one of the most heroic acts of self-preservation I have heard of.” As the Biden administration fights to take away the right to self-defense, Ms. Jenneiahn’s actions reveal a strong reason why the 2nd amendment is so important.
